Yesterday, I had the honor of volunteering at the Florence Cemetery to help replace flags for the brave men and women who gave their lives for our country. Walking through the cemetery and seeing all of the flags waving reminded me how important Memorial Day really is. It’s not just a day off or a barbecue, it’s a day to remember heroes, honor their sacrifice, and thank the families who miss them every single day.
I’m proud to be part of a community that takes time to show respect and gratitude to our fallen service members. Thank you to all who have served and sacrificed for our freedom. ❤️🤍💙

For the past several months, my mornings have started a little earlier than usual.

I've been taking 5:00 AM Zoom calls, reading club proposals, discussing ideas, planning projects, and building relationships with student leaders nearly 8,000 miles away in Rwanda.

Today, I'm so excited to officially share that Little Acorns has partnered with Cleverland TSS in Rwanda! 🌍🌱

Through this partnership, Little Acorns will help support student-led clubs focused on leadership, service, education, culture, environmental stewardship, food security, and more. These clubs will be led by the students themselves, giving them the opportunity to identify needs in their school and community, develop solutions, and create meaningful change alongside their peers.

One of the things I'm most excited about is mentoring and coaching these student leaders as they plan projects, build leadership skills, and discover the impact they can have in their communities.

The mission of Little Acorns has always been simple: small actions can grow into something much bigger.

Now, that mission is reaching across the world.

Different countries. Different cultures. The same belief that young people can make a difference.

This is only the beginning, and I can't wait to see what these incredible students accomplish.

Today I joined Little Acorns Ambassador Emmy at the Iowa Miss Amazing x Dance Without Limits Dance & Cheer Clinic 💕

From dance parties and cheer routines to bracelet making and pizza, it was such a fun afternoon full of smiles, friendship, and inclusion. I absolutely love organizations that create spaces where every kid feels celebrated exactly as they are. ✨

This morning I had the opportunity to spend time with the fourth graders at Greenwood Elementary, and it was such a special experience. 💚

I read my children’s book, Amelia’s Acorns, and talked with students about how even small acts of kindness can grow into something much bigger. 🌱

After the reading, we worked together to turn old T-shirts that were destined for the landfill into reusable bags for the Families Forward food pantry. It was amazing to see how excited the students were to learn that they could help both people and the planet at the same time. ♻️🛍️

I also shared more about Little Acorns and showed students how they can log service hours on the website, earn points, and redeem prizes while making a difference in their communities. One of my favorite parts of the morning was hearing how many students wanted to go home and make even more T-shirt bags to keep clothes out of landfills!

We wrapped up the visit with questions about becoming an author, starting a nonprofit, and what it means to be a titleholder. I hope every student left knowing that you do not have to wait until you are older to make an impact-you can start right now.

Great oaks from little acorns grow. 🌳✨
