✨ Please join us in welcoming Ben Miller to the Affinity Ranch Board of Directors! ✨

Ben’s connection to Affinity Ranch began several years ago when his daughter, Riley, joined our Adaptive Horsemanship program. What started as a program experience became something much more—a place where confidence grew, milestones were celebrated, and meaningful connections were formed.

Originally from Iowa, Ben has called Colorado home for the past 20 years. He and his wife, Jaclyn, are raising two wonderful daughters, Reese and Riley, and are active supporters of the community. Professionally, Ben serves as Vice President of PC Sales at Holmes Murphy, bringing extensive leadership and business experience to our board.

As a parent who has witnessed the impact of our mission firsthand, Ben understands the importance of creating opportunities for individuals of all abilities to thrive. We are grateful for his perspective, expertise, and commitment as we continue expanding access to life-changing equine-assisted services.

May Team Member Spotlight 💛 Meet Kendall

Kendall was inspired to join Affinity Ranch because of its deep commitment to supporting individuals with differing abilities in ways that go far beyond basic care.

“What inspired me most was seeing an environment where every person is valued, encouraged, and given opportunities to grow with dignity and confidence.”

As a special education teacher, Affinity Ranch’s mission resonates deeply with her. She believes every individual deserves the opportunity to build meaningful skills, confidence, independence, and a true sense of belonging.

Kendall especially values the ranch’s holistic approach through equine and animal assisted services, recreation, vocational support, and mental health programming.

“To me, Affinity’s mission represents compassion in action. It’s about meeting individuals where they are, celebrating their strengths, and helping them thrive in meaningful and lasting ways.”

When it comes to favorite ranch animals, Kendall says both Buttercup and Link hold a special place in her heart.

She describes Buttercup as tiny but mighty, with a calm and comforting presence that immediately puts people at ease. Link has become another favorite through the time she has spent sidewalking with him and getting to know his playful personality and quirks during lessons.

Outside of the ranch, Kendall enjoys slowing down with a good book and coffee, as well as spending time outdoors hiking, camping, and backpacking with her dog, Brodie.

We’re so grateful for the compassion, heart, and dedication Kendall brings to the ranch community every week 💛

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave military service members who gave their lives in service to our country. We also recognize the lasting impact that service can carry for veterans and their families long after they return home. 🇺🇸

In this new Campaign video, veterans courageously share their stories and how connection with horses helped them find moments of trust, healing, and hope when they needed it most.

At Affinity Ranch, we’re honored to provide equine-assisted mental health and wellness services for veterans and families in our community. Horses have a unique way of helping people feel grounded, connected, and understood — creating space for healing without judgment.

This May, as part of Mental Health Awareness Month and the Horses for Mental Health Campaign, we’re raising support to help more individuals access these life-changing services.

As horses graze, families gather, and the ranch slows for the holiday, we hold space for gratitude, remembrance, and the sacrifices that make moments like these possible.
