The Colorado Military Historical Group is a Living History and Reenacting group with a focus on preserving the history of World War II. We were organized in January 2010 and were incorporated in the state of Colorado in March 2010. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization chartered in the state of Colorado. The CMHG preserves the heritage and memorabilia of nations which participated in World War

II and subsequent actions by participating in public events such as parades, veteran reunions, air shows, and reenactments. Through demonstrations and lectures, our members educate students of all ages. We also conduct closed to the public tactical events for the enjoyment of our members which consist of other Reenacting/Living History units from Wyoming, Nebraska, New Mexico, Texas, and California among others.

Go Army! The Group was at Falcon Stadium supporting West Point’s tailgate with an Army 250 Display. Kurt, Dennis, Steve, Marc, and Kyle brave the sub- freezing temps and black bears to camp out onsite while Nathan, Frank, Vince, and Andrew came in early to display Army History to over a thousand Army fans and grads. Since SecWar prohibited (active) military displays and demonstrations, Fort Carson had no equipment or displays and the Air Force no flyover. We were IT! Cold. Fun. Historic. Army won 20-17. Hooah!

I was at the post office and saw that they have some nice military-related stamps available. They still have the purple heart stamp but have added two new stamps; One called battlefields of the American Revolution featuring ten different stamps per sheet for battles at Lexington and Concord, Bunker Hill, Trenton, Saratoga and Yorktown. A second one celebrates 250 years of the US Army with 20 stamps per sheet of a single design. I bought all three designs.

The CMHG participated in the Monument July 4th parade. We brought a WW2 Jeep and Dodge 1/2 ton truck, as well as a Vietnam gun truck.

The Group displayed 250 Year’s worth of US Army History, Weapons, and Uniforms, including two firing demonstrations at this year’s Western Museum of Mining and Industry Super Saturday - History event in Colorado Springs. For the first time in five years, it didn’t rain! But that might have been preferred compared to the Sunny 90’s, especially for those of us in Wool Uniforms!

D-Day. 6 June 1944. Operation OVERLORD. 160,000 soldiers; 5,000 ships and boats; and over 1,200 aircraft begin the liberation of Europe.

"It is no exaggeration to say that World War II was won by British Pluck, Russian Blood, and AMERICAN STEEL."
