Equine Partnership Program

Equine Partnership Program Equine Partnership Program is a nonprofit organization that provides equine-assisted psychotherapy for individuals in need.

In the simplest terms, what we do is to take our normal counseling sessions out from the office to the barn. The setting itself is part of the appeal, and allows us to reach people who might be resistant to talk-therapy alone. Many people would rather interact with horses than discuss their feelings in an office setting. Even more important than the appeal, however, are the results. Working with h

orses helps our clients reach their therapeutic goals more quickly and effectively. Results are what our practice is really about. We constantly apply the lessons that are learned in working with our animals to the changes our clients need to make in their lives. Our work with horses provides the tools that allow our clients to gain the self-understanding and emotional growth that are the goal of all forms of therapy. Hyperactive, oppositional, defiant, and impulsive children learn to self-regulate and become more successful in their day to day relationships. Anxious and depressed clients gain the self-esteem that they need to achieve success. Fragmented families find ways to communicate more effectively. Sexually and physically traumatized clients learn how to set healthy boundaries. Those dealing with grief and loss learn a path to healing and acceptance. The need is great, and we are extremely proud of the life-changes we have helped our clients achieve over the years.
