Father’s Day Matching Challenge

Meet Andres

“In November of 2022 I was diagnosed with stage 4 aggressive prostate cancer. It was a huge shock to me. No one in my family had ever received a cancer diagnosis before, and I had just assumed that I had nothing to worry about. I recall walking out of the doctor’s office that day with my wife, Corinne, who is the Director of Sari Center. We were stunned by what we had just learned.

Through our tears, we agreed that together, we would do all we could to heal the disease. By the grace of God, I was already very familiar with the Sari Center services. As I underwent hormone therapy and radiation treatments, I utilized all that the Sari Center has to offer. Massage, acupuncture, and hypnotherapy all helped me to endure the many effects of the treatments, and the gentle support of the therapists continues to provide a safe, loving atmosphere for ongoing challenges.

I am still undergoing medical treatments, and I can’t imagine having to face this diagnosis without the support of my wife, my children and grandkids, my doctors, and everyone at Sari Center.” - Andres F

Read Pete’s Story & See How You Can Help!

Meet Pete

Pete was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia in 2010 an told by his doctors to “watch and wait”. A few years later, the disease progressed and he went through treatment for a couple of long years. Gratefully, in 2018 the CLL went into remission.

As life circumstances would have it, a couple years later Pete and his wife welcomed their daughter and her family to share their home to support their family in a time of need. Although this can create chaos in any household, having his grandchildren around every day has been a source of tremendous joy!

Last summer Pete’s numbers started trending up again. Despite the fear that brought up in him, he went into action mode and called Sari Center for support.

Pete consulted with our team to learn about how his nutrition and daily lifestyle practices, as well as different integrative therapies, could support his goal of staying in remission. He found inspiration in the healing stories from the book Radical Hope, used hypnotherapy “to overcome a lifetime of habits that need to change”, and oncology massage has helped him manage stress.

Pete says he's a work in progress and that making incremental changes has been working for him. He’s grateful to Sari Center for the support and he's grateful to get to see his grandkids every day.

At Sari Center we celebrate survivors every day.

...but since June is
National Cancer Survivors Month
AND
Men's Health Month,
we thought it a perfect time to honor
some special survivors.

At Sari Center we celebrate survivors every single day, but June is National Cancer Survivors Month, so we celebrate even more than usual!! 🎉

Thank you to Good Samaritan Medical Center & Katrina’s Boutique for hosting a beautiful brunch and fashion show in honor of all survivors! 💖

Our director, Corinne Faza, was grateful to participate and had the honor and privilege of escorting a beautiful thriver, Marni, on the runway!

Let’s celebrate all the incredible survivor/thrivers all month long! And every day. 🙏🏽💞💝✨

Our team loves it when we run into part of our Sari Center family out in the wild!! 😍♥️✨

It may have been a decade ago that we had the opportunity to support these beautiful twins and their mother, but we recognized each other immediately and were all so happy to see each other! 💞🎉 They are excited to be reconnected and hopeful to volunteer and support the center and we are so grateful! 🙏🏽♥️✨
