Jana (Moonfire) is a staple DJ in the Puna community even before she became a part of Max+Elizabeth’s roster of Kalani’s Ecstatic Dance Musical Facilitators over 15 years ago. She’s a true DJ, having brought her beats by way of the vinyl records for many years and many, many venues. Some of us recall meeting her on Kehena Beach where she’d bring turntables and speakers for a rogue DJ session. Jana’s musical style gets your heart beat up with plenty of house and drum & bass, so bring your water bottle and a towel because it’s going to get hot. We love Jana’s long-standing place in the community, her dedication to the craft, and her bringing her own unique style to our ritual.

Omra is a prolific creatrix, a dedicated artist and musician in the Puna community. She’s been rooted in Puna with her family for a generation and is a friend to most of us, along with her hubby, Sky Kubby.

Omra has been focused on stepping into the role of Musical Facilitator at Kalani Ecstatic Dance for several years. We’re so proud and excited to finally welcome her into this crucial role. Her musical journey traverses the world, including acoustic as well as electronic. We love Omra’s vibe of grounded enthusiasm as well as her humble kindness.

Eva “Leapin’ Lygress” has been in the Puna/Hawai’i dance scene going back 15+ years. Since then, Eva has been DJ’ing all over, leapin’ around from dancefloor to dancefloor. You’ve probably seen a blur of Eva’s stripes somewhere on the dancefloor or on stage, dancing and grooving, usually with a huge smile. That’s why we’re excited for Eva to bring a special flavor of vibes to Kalani Ecstatic Dance infused with lots of diverse beats. Sara (Sarita Sol) is a fixture in the dance scene, not just in Puna, but around the world. We see her nearly every Sunday at Kalani Ecstatic Dance, moving to the beats of our community musical facilitators. That’s why it’s so special to welcome Sara to pilot the collective ship herself. Sara’s beats selections really stand out as a unique offering, showing a huge range in her tastes. Her range covers all the way from original acoustic songs to sweet and sexy, fun bass music to heartfelt songs of peace.
We love Sarita Sol for her embodiment as a dancer in our community and are so excited for her to lead us this Sunday!

Imagika Om (Monika Mana) is one of Kalani Ecstatic Dance’s resident Musical Facilitators and council members. Monika is a professional musician, DJ, event producer, and “aural alchemist”. Her musical journeys often begin with beautiful and haunting live vocals. She often serves a unique blend of music she’s come across in her travels around the world, blending beats described as “exotic, erotic ta***ic temple trap, tribal primal percussion, mid-tempo heartbeat house, lush latina bruja beats, and ancient future fourth world sounds…”
While Monika plays sounds from many creators and from around the world, she’ll often add one or two of her own tracks from her album "Cosmic Sutras”. Her musical facilitation carefully guides us across a mystical journey of sounds and senses and into our bodies, culminating in an intense peak of sensuous and sexy bass powered beats. Then, finding release and resolution her facilitation carefully catches us as we come to rest and stillness.
She inspires a sense of peace and harmony. We love Monika’s grounded, kind, and clear presence… and the wisdom she brings to her interactions in the community.

SUPERBABE! (Lily Marie) continually inspires us with her resilience and kindness. Lily has been the director of Kalani for many years and we can thank her for reviving Ecstatic Dance at Kalani, welcoming in the many hands who collaborate on it today. Her passion for dance was sparked at just 14 years old on the Big Island at Kalani, eventually leading her to become a musical facilitator herself. For the past two years she has been honing in on creating her own diabolically delicious beats to share with us all.
