My exploration of ways to build with bamboo takes me to new places everyday. This small simple cottage has been quite a journey of applying old and new techniques with fun creative details. The roof of polycarbonate is finally completed with a 16'x24' interior two room and two 8'x30' exterior eves that will provide our outdoor coverage and solar panels; one ground space possibly enclosed and the other open for time spent enjoying the rainforest surroundings and to accommodate our solar electric cabinette and other storage. This is an example of tropical independant living. The interior installation of electric, water, and flooring is next. The floor is enclosed by 12" diameter logs with the interior space filled with aggregate which will be surfaced with concrete once the plumbing is placed beneath. Stay tuned for updates.
