Repost Southern Region DST Today, we honor and celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, husbands, mentors, godfathers, uncles, and father figures whose love, leadership, wisdom, and sacrifice help shape our families and communities.

We pay tribute to the strong Black men who lead with integrity, nurture with compassion, protect with courage, and leave lasting legacies for generations to come. We also pause to remember and honor those fathers and father figures who are no longer with us. Though absent in presence, their lessons, love, and impact continue to live on in the lives they touched. 🙏🏾

To every man who shows up, stands firm, gives selflessly, and pours into others—thank you. Your legacy is woven into the families, communities, and futures you help shape each day.

Repost Southern Region DST Juneteenth is not just a commemoration of freedom. It is OUR Freedom Day.

It is the day we honor the resilience, sacrifice, faith, and determination of our ancestors who endured the unimaginable and still believed in a future they might never see. Their courage made our freedom possible.

Today, we celebrate OUR freedom, OUR progress, OUR culture, and OUR legacy. We also recommit ourselves to ensuring that future generations inherit the freedoms our ancestors fought so hard to secure.

Repost Delta Sigma Theta - Official Happy !

Today we honor the legacy of the last enslaved African Americans in Texas who were finally informed of their freedom, some two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. It was those people, and the generations of Texans who came after them, who made the bold declaration to celebrate this day, marking a reality we know far too well in this country: freedom may be delayed, but it will never be denied.

Though our fight for freedom sadly continues, today we pause to celebrate and embrace the joy of our ancestors who believed in the possibilities of a more promising tomorrow. And in that joy, we remain anchored, steadfast in our pursuit of true freedom and justice for all.

Delta Sigma Theta has always stood for love, inclusion, and respecting the full dignity of every person. While we remain anchored in that legacy, we also acknowledge the need to continue to evolve with intention by championing affirming policies, and forging a culture where every member is seen, valued, and protected.

This Pride Month, we honor and celebrate the beautiful diversity and strength of the LGBTQ+ community and reaffirm our commitment to being allies in the fight for a better future where the freedom to love and exist in one’s authentic identity is not contingent on the political climate. Especially when that freedom is being challenged, we choose to show up louder, love harder, and stand firmer in our commitment to justice for all.
