Kesem at the University of Mississippi Kesem is a nationwide community, led by passionate college student leaders, that supports children through and beyond their parent’s cancer. Est. 2022

Kesem is a diverse community led by passionate and empathetic college students working to ensure that children facing the challenges of a parent’s cancer have space, connection, and support to rediscover the joys of childhood. Our mission is to support children through and beyond their parent’s cancer with free, fun-filled creative programs and a lasting community. Camp Kesem at the University of Mississippi was founded in 2021 and supports children in the greater Oxford community by providing Camp Kesem, a free week-long summer camp experience, and year-round Through and Beyond support services. Our chapter is operated by 30 student volunteers and serves 30 campers ages 6-18 per year. Kesem operates at more than 130 chapters coast-to-coast. Its programs and services are all funded by generous donations from individuals, foundations, and corporate partners. Kesem is a federally registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.

Kesem at UMISS is excited for the opportunity to participate in the 11th Annual Night for Nonprofits, hosted by the Lafayette Oxford Foundation for Tomorrow (LOFT)!

We are incredibly grateful to LOFT for supporting our mission to provide free, year-round programming for children impacted by a parent’s cancer.💚💙
