Our museum is located within a 93,000 square foot building, which also includes overnight lodging, banquet and meeting space, and residential apartments. The property encompasses 33 acres including historic gardens and grounds, the Oneida Community Cemetery, and the country's first corporate golf course. The property has two century-old New York State champion trees: a Black Walnut and a Tulip.

🎉Exciting News! We’re CLRC’s 2026 Library of the Year! 🎉

We’re thrilled to announce that the Oneida Community Mansion House has been named the 2026 Library of the Year by the Central New York Library Resources Council (CLRC)! Even better, the judges unanimously selected OCMH for this honor.

While we may not look like your typical library, libraries have been part of the Mansion House story for generations. 📚

Our historic library was accumulated by members of the Oneida Community, whose books offer a glimpse into their intellectual interests, reading habits, and pursuit of knowledge. The New Library continued that tradition, serving descendants of the Oneida Community and Mansion House residents. And our collection continues to grow today!

These libraries connect us to the people who lived here, the ideas that shaped their lives, and the generations who followed.

This award recognizes OCMH’s exceptional commitment to preserving and sharing history, creating innovative educational and cultural experiences, and connecting our collections with the community. We’re honored that CLRC’s judges unanimously selected us for this recognition!

As promised, here is our Day 1 recap of the incredible Communal Studies Association conference:

The Communal Studies Association comes to the Oneida Community Mansion House! The CSA is the premier organization that studies communal societies and they held their annual conference at the Mansion House this October.

Day 1 was amazing! Attendees took a memorable tour of with CEO Matt Roberts. Liberty Tabletop is the heir to Oneida Ltd. and the ONLY American made flatware company. Guests saw how a coil of stainless steel is transformed into a dinner spoon.

Then Museum Director, Tom Guiler, led the group through the former Oneida Ltd. Sales Office to see some amazing spaces and visit current businesses.

The evening ended with Dinner and a Movie! A delicious feast by Ray Brothers BBQ and a screening of Jodi Wille's amazing film, "Welcome Space Brothers."

A BIG Thank You to the Communal Studies Association for coming to OCMH for their 2026 Conference! It was a huge success with great papers, amazing tours and experiences, and a fantastic group of people.
