Every year on this day, friends and family reach out. Kind words. Thoughts and prayers. Wishes of a peaceful day. And I love that everyone remembers my girl, even if it’s on her memorial anniversary.
I always said she came into the world with a bang and left with a bang ; days that are simply unforgettable.
But 9 years later, what still gets me ,and makes me smile even today, is that she is remembered for her soul. Her conversations. Her words. Her eyes. Her personality. For being a genuine guru in the body of a 4-year-old.
One friend said today, “All I could think when I talked with her is that the eyes are the window to the soul. Her beautiful eyes a reflection of her even more beautiful soul”, and my heart smiled.
I bet heaven is a whole lot better than where we are, and I bet my little guru is taking full advantage of all of it — because her soul always knew exactly what she needed.

While our Christmas fundraising campaign for the Children’s Hospital has wrapped up, the need in our community continues year-round. Just this week, we learned of two local children who received difficult diagnoses, and we are committed to supporting both families.

My girl loved Christmas. The lights, the vibes, the tree, the gatherings…all the wonderful magical things that come with it. Even when we spent Christmas Eve at the hospital, we turned the hospital room into a Christmas party spot, and she loved every minute of it.

We love Paige’s. They are truly the first line of non-medical support families receive at Upstate.

I remember walking in with Jennah at 10 a.m., after she was transported by ambulance from Oneida to Upstate. Our heads were spinning. We had no idea what was happening. What we didn’t know then was that this would turn into a 10-day hospital stay. Saying we weren’t ready is an understatement.

On that very first day of admission, we were handed a Paige backpack—blankets, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, and other essentials. In those first terrifying hours and that first long night, that backpack was a lifeline. It was a survival kit when everything felt out of control.

Please take a moment to listen to these two incredible Upstate nurses. They remind us exactly why we do what we do. When a family’s life changes overnight, the gift cards we collect become more than just help—they become a much needed blessing

Jennah would have been proud.

A huge shout-out to the 10 incredible donors who came together to help us reach 50% of our original goal this year. We know times are tough, and your generosity truly means more than words can express.

Thank you as well to everyone who shared our posts and helped spread the word—your support matters and helps us reach families who need it most.

Earlier this week, we were proud to deliver $2,500 in gift cards to families whose children are undergoing treatment at Upstate. Because this cause is so near and dear to our hearts, we reallocated some funds to make this possible.

Our hope is that these gift cards help bring a little comfort and joy to families during a very difficult season.

Merry Christmas, and thank you for helping us make the holidays a little brighter for these families.

We were scheduled to deliver all of our cards this past Friday, but due to the storm, delivery has been postponed until next week. While I was initially disappointed, this pause has given us a little more time — and maybe some hope.

This year, we’ve reached 50% of our goal, which is lower than we had hoped. We’re not entirely sure why — whether it’s due to economic challenges, changing circumstances, or simply not reaching the same audience we have in past years. We wish the outcome had been stronger, but we are still deeply grateful.

To ensure 25 cards were completed, we used funds from earlier this year. We’ll be delivering these cards to Upstate next week, and with a few days still left, there’s still an opportunity to help us move closer to our goal.

If you’ve been thinking about giving, now truly is the perfect time. Every donation, no matter the size, helps us honor Jennah’s memory and bring comfort where it’s needed most.

We decided this year to deliver our Christmas gift cards to Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital in Syracuse, a little earlier than past years. We’ve worked hard to promote our campaign, and although we didn’t reach the level of participation we hoped for, we are still grateful to be able to deliver 25 cards using the funds raised throughout the year and the donations we’ve received so far.

Thank you to everyone who has given—your support makes a direct impact on families during this holiday season.
