Reality. We are grateful to the people in the our community and other towns and cities in tbe area that do initiate this themselves to help tbe cats!

We know how frustrating it can be when you reach out to a TNR organization and find out they're working with a 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁. 🫤

The reality is that many TNR groups are completely overwhelmed. 🥵 The number of cats needing help can far exceed the number of volunteers, traps, appointments, and resources they have available. 😕

But while you're waiting, the cats are still reproducing. 👎🏾👎🏼

𝘐𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘸𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘷𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘻𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 to do everything for you, consider asking whether they can loan you a trap and provide some guidance so you can take on the rest. ✅

You can schedule the appointment. 🫵🏼 You can trap the cat. You can transport the cat. 🫵🏼 You can provide the appropriate recovery space. And you can return the cat to where you found them. 🫵🏼

𝕐𝕠𝕦 𝕕𝕠𝕟'𝕥 𝕙𝕒𝕧𝕖 𝕥𝕠 𝕕𝕠 𝕖𝕧𝕖𝕣𝕪𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕒𝕝𝕠𝕟𝕖. Sometimes you just need someone to show you how to get started. 🫶 Personally, we have had such great success teaching others how to properly TNR!

With the right supplies, a little preparation, and some guidance, anyone can learn to TNR. And, you may be able to help those cats much sooner by becoming part of the solution yourself. ❤️

Attn: Anyone interested in getting licensed to rehabilitate raccoons, bats, or skunks in New York State!

The annual RVS licensing certification course will be held at the New York State Wildlife Rehabilitation Council conference in Ossining NY on Thursday November 12 from 10am - 5:30.

There is no test following the course, but attendance of the full day is required to gain your certificate of completion. This certificate is one of the necessary steps to obtaining your RVS license, and is good for at least five years, so you can get this piece out of the where wherever you may be in the steps towards getting licensed.

The course is free for anyone attending the conference. A $65 registration fee is charged for those attending only the RVS day. Currently, this is the only offering of the RVS course slated for this year, so you may want to get it under your belt while you can.

Sarah Bookbinder will be proctoring the class and lecturing, along with Kathleen Hannon, Amber Palmer, and representatives from the DEC, DOH and others.

We very much hope that you will join us. We desperately need more RVS rehabilitators in New York State!

Registration is open for the conference now. See the link in the comments below.

Please keep an eye out. This cat escaped the live trap last night- the trap door was secured but the clip on the back of the trap loosened and she squeezed out of a very small area. This happened while waiting for her spay appt today in foster on Washington Ave. Her colony is about 6 blocks away on Elizabeth. Please help us locate her, the person feeding her calls her Arnie.
