What a great time to learn about fire safety and visit our brave firefighters Oneida City Fire Department! Thank you so much to our amazing fire department for all that you do and especially for taking some time to show our kiddos your department and your equipment! That's something they'll never forget! Maybe in due time some of them will join you at the department! Love it!

Happy 250th USA! All our elementary kiddos participated in this! This is so cool! Great job everyone! What a way to celebrate!! 🇺🇸

250 Years of America, One United OCSD

In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States of America, our elementary students came together in a special way to honor this historic milestone.

Dressed proudly in red, white, and blue, students at each of our elementary schools joined together to form the numbers 2, 5, and 0, creating a powerful symbol of our nation’s 250-year journey.

This memorable activity was more than just a photo opportunity—it was a chance for our students to celebrate history, unity, and the spirit of community. The finished “250” image represents the pride, teamwork, and patriotism shared across the Oneida City School District.

So much FUN was had yesterday at Seneca Street's indoor FUN DAY! It was an amazing atmosphere and a great place to be for all the fun yesterday! The kids had an absolute blast! Kudos to all who had a hand in bringing everything together!! My daughter is still raving about how much fun she had with her friends yesterday!! Love it!!

As we wrap up our last full week of school and head into the final week of the year, it’s hard to believe how quickly the time has flown. Next week will be filled with half days, end-of-year celebrations, some tears and lots of excitement as summer begins.

The Oneida Elementary PTO would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this school year so special for our students. To our parents, caregivers, families, teachers, aides, staff, volunteers, and community supporters—your time, dedication, and generosity have helped create memories, opportunities, and experiences our children will carry with them for years to come.

Whether you attended an event, volunteered your time, supported a fundraiser, donated supplies, cheered from the sidelines, or simply encouraged a student along the way, you made a difference.

☀️ Madison County Youth Bureau Summer Program Registration is Open! ☀️

The Madison County Youth Bureau is excited to offer two FREE summer program opportunities for Madison County youth entering 5th and 6th grade this fall!

📅 Session 1: August 11–13
This popular hands-on program focuses on getting kids outdoors, making friends, building confidence, learning teamwork, developing positive life skills, and exploring local history and community resources.

📍 Featured locations include:
• Abolitionist Hall of Fame (Peterboro)
• Oneida Public Library
• Great Swamp Conservancy (Canastota)

📅 Session 2: August 25–27
Hosted at the Oneida Public Library in partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension, this session features the Choose Health: Food, Fun, Fitness program. Youth will participate in engaging activities that promote healthy eating, physical activity, and lifelong wellness habits.

🥕 Topics include:
• Choosing water and low-fat milk over sugary drinks
• Eating more fruits, vegetables, and whole grains
• Reducing high-fat and high-sugar foods
• Staying active and limiting screen time

⏰ All sessions run from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
👥 Space is limited to 14 participants per session
🚗 Participants must have transportation to the designated drop-off location or activity site. Transportation assistance may be available on a case-by-case basis.

🍿 One last Popcorn Day at WP for the school year! 🍿

Did you know that Popcorn Day happens every month at each elementary building thanks to the support of our PTO, volunteers, and families who participate in our fundraisers?

The smiles, excitement, and special memories these students enjoy throughout the year are made possible because of the incredible support from our school community. From Popcorn Days to family events, staff appreciation, student activities, and more, every fundraiser helps bring a little extra fun to our schools.

As we wrap up another amazing year, we’d love for more parents and guardians to consider getting involved next year. Whether you volunteer at an event, attend a meeting, share ideas, or simply support our fundraisers, every contribution makes a difference.
