Learn about how being trauma-informed improves criminal justice system responses!

This interactive virtual training is designed for criminal justice professionals who want to better understand trauma and strengthen the way they respond to justice-involved people. Participants will explore trauma and vicarious trauma, how trauma can shape behavior and involvement with the justice system, and practical responses grounded in respect, information, safety, and choice. The training also examines how policies, procedures, and cross-system partnerships can reduce re-traumatization, improve safety, and better connect people with trauma-informed services and supports.

Join us for our upcoming Crisis Awareness & Communication in Peer Support Training! This is a robust 40-hour crisis response training to increase the number of behavioral health CPCs/CPSSs who can responsibly serve individuals experiencing behavioral health crises.

Prerequisites: Complete the online HCA Power of Peer Support in Crisis Services Learning and be a CPC/Certified Peer Support Specialist.

Schedule note: We recognize that this training begins on Indigenous Peoples' Day, a day to honor the histories, cultures, resilience, and enduring contributions of Indigenous peoples who have cared for and stewarded these lands since time immemorial.

At Peer Washington, we believe that stories are at the heart of recovery. Every story shared reminds someone else that they’re not alone. For three months, we celebrated those journeys through 𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐏𝐞𝐞𝐫 π’π­π¨π«π’πžπ¬, a campaign to honor the voices of our staff, members, and community.

More than 𝟐𝟎𝟎 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐒𝐞𝐬 were shared, creating a powerful collection of lived experiences, recovery, and hope. Now, these stories are coming together in our new 𝐎𝐧π₯𝐒𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐀, a place to read, connect, find inspiration, and feel seen.
