It’s Freedom To Read Week, and we’re not saying we’re the first advocates of the cause, but check this retro 1992 book sale poster in the office…

To every book, its reader!

Seasons change, favorite genres shift, and suddenly - you are out of shelf space - OH NO! What's a Friend to do?!

Better bring us those books at our Donation Drive on Saturday, October 24, from 10am to Noon at our Sort Site located at 300 NE 50th in OKC. Books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, vinyl records - we even take board games and puzzles!

Tomorrow, the world will celebrate Dolly on 9/25 (in honor of her song 9 to 5).

Drive by the Ronald J. Norick Downtown Metro Library as we light it up PINK for Dolly, and join us at Stonecloud Brewing Co from 5-9 for their new beverage launch!

What WOULD Dolly Do if she knew how much we love her and support continuing her legacy of getting more books in the hands of kids?!

Howdy! Hope you can sparkle up, kick back and join us from 5 to 9 on 9/25 StoneCloud Brewery in OKC!

Since 1978, the Friends have been so much more than our famous book sales. We are a network of library supporters, media lovers, volunteers, and citizens invested in library communities, especially those here in Oklahoma County!

Recently, the Friends board revisited its original articles of incorporation and bylaws. As we reflected on who we are and all that we have accomplished, we decided to adopt a new logo to better reflect our history, present, and future.

We look forward to you getting just as familiar with our new logo as you may have been with our original one - and we hope you'll stay just as familiar with us!

September is Library Card Sign Up month and today is Sign Up Saturday at the Norick Downtown with so many things to do and see, including a magic show!

Thanks to Friends board members Clare and Trent for also helping folks sign up to be Friends members, enroll in Dolly, or learn more about Friends events and volunteering!

We’re so much more than our famous book sale - and so proud to be a part of the library community.

Make sure you max out your library card, today!

Hey, what are you doing on Saturday?
No. Nope. Nah.

You're coming downtown for Sign Up Saturday!

Come say hi, see our new logo, meet some Friends, get a library card, join as a Friends member, and register to win a stack of signed books by some of our most recent Literary Voices authors!

Cookies, swag, ooh, and the whale skeleton is still here! See you Saturday!
