These are the images we hoped we’d never see. 💔💔

When we took Mercy to the vet, we were praying for a path to healing. Instead, the X-rays revealed the severe, irreversible damage she had been living with in silence. While her spirit was strong, her body simply couldn’t be mended, and we had to make the hardest decision a rescuer ever faces.

Because of the extensive diagnostic work, X-rays, and the unexpected cost of her cremation to bring her home to the sanctuary one last time, we are facing a final bill far beyond what we were prepared for. While we are left with a large bill of $2400, we do need help so we can continue helping other like Mercy.

As a 501(c)(3) sanctuary, our ability to step in for horses like Mercy depends entirely on your support. Even though she is no longer with us, we still have to cover the costs of her final care so we can stay ready for the next soul who needs a safe place to land.

If you can help us clear Mercy’s final bill, any amount makes a difference.

There are no words for the silence of an empty trailer. 💔🚛 Sometimes in rescue the best thing hurts the most. 😔

We went to the vet today hoping for a miracle, but the X-rays showed that the damage to Mercy’s feet was just too severe. Despite her fighting spirit, the prognosis was a life of continuous pain that no treatment could truly fix.

As hard as it was to say goodbye, we couldn't let her suffer any longer. She passed peacefully, knowing she was loved, fed, and finally safe. She isn't in pain anymore, and while our hearts are breaking, we are thankful she got to spend her final days on the right side of the fence.

Run pain-free now, sweet Mercy. You’ll always have a place in our hearts. 🕊️🐴

For the first time since we picked her up, Mercy felt safe enough to lay down and truly rest. Watching her rest her weary body is a bittersweet reminder of the pain she’s been carrying, but seeing her find the strength to stand back up on her own is a victory we don’t take for granted.

She has every reason to be tired, but she has every reason to be hopeful, too. We are counting down the hours to her full exam and X-rays tomorrow so we can start giving her the relief she deserves.

One day at a time, one stand at a time. Welcome to the safe side of the fence, Mercy.

Every step is a struggle, but every step is another toward healing. 🐴💔 Seeing Mercy move like this is a heartbreaking reminder of the months she spent alone. We are counting down the hours to her full exam and X-rays this Wednesday so we can finally start the right treatment for her. As a 501(c)(3) sanctuary, we rely on your kindness to make these rescues possible. Will you help us get Mercy the answers she needs? 🙏✨

For six long months, Mercy was a prisoner of circumstance. 💔💔

After her family was deported, she was left alone with no consistent food or water. If it weren't for a kind neighbor periodically stepping in, she wouldn't be here today. When her family finally reached out for help, a friend realized her needs were more than he could handle alongside his own animals. That’s when we stepped in.

Seeing her take those first painful steps on sanctuary ground was a reminder of why we do this. She’s safe now, and her healing officially begins this week.

We were able to secure the first available opening with our vet this Wednesday for a full exam and X-rays to assess the damage from her time alone. We’ll finally have answers on how to best help her heal.

Welcome to the first chapter of your new life, Mercy. You’re never going to be alone again.

She’s officially safe! Meet Mercy!

We made it back from our rescue mission earlier today, and our newest resident is already settling in. Seeing her take those first few painful, heavy steps on sanctuary ground makes every mile driven and every post hole dug worth it.

She has a long road of healing ahead, but she’ll never have to worry about where her next meal is coming from again. No more fear, no more uncertainty—just peace and the specialized care she deserves. If anyone would like to help out with her inital vet visit and ferrier care, or feed we will add our donation links in the comments.🥰

Welcome home, sweet girl. Your new life starts today.

To everyone who’s new here—welcome to the chaos! 🐎🙏

I want to say sorry for being MIA lately, but we are back and working hard to catch up! Most days you’ll find me out here digging post holes, hauling hay, or trying to stay one step ahead of this crew’s 'remodeling' plans. It’s unglamorous, expensive, and exhausting, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I’m a firm believer in transparency, so I’ll always bring the receipts and show you exactly what it takes to keep this rescue running. If you want to follow along with our journey (and see if I ever actually finish this fence), hit that follow button! Every star sent here goes directly to the hay and vet bills that keep these souls safe and fed. 💪🌾🐎
