Horses That Help A non-profit 501(c)3 equine rescue and sanctuary. A safe landing for at-risk horses.

Horses That Help, a local non-profit, utilizes rescued and rehabilitated horses to impact the lives of special needs and at-risk kids. Horses That Help is a 501(c)3 public charity and donations are tax deductible. There is something special about the connection between a horse and a child that brings about physical, spiritual, and emotional healing through horseback riding, training, and bonding. Horses That Help's program is completely free so that money never stands in the way of a parent's ability to bring their child. We thank you for your support so we can expand the program into a full-time ministry that can have an even greater impact!

🙌ABSCESS!🙌💃 Pepper had us worried sick and fearing the worst but X-rays confirmed he’s not foundered and it’s just an abscess!!! Thank you Jesus!!! Pepper is 28/30 yrs old and he’s been with HTH I think 14 years. This sweet old man helped literally hundreds of children during his career and has been enjoying well earned retirement for the last 6 years. He’s still miserable and gimpy but on pain meds and his hoof wrapped with ichtamol to draw out the abscess. Praying it blows sooner than later and sweet boy can go back to running with his friends! ❤️

Welcomed this sweet girl to HTH last week. We were told she was anxious but we haven’t seen it and I think it’s because she’s really relaxed from the worship music that plays in the barn. We’ve always shut the music off at night check but her first night here, Drew decided to leave it on for her (he didn’t want her to feel alone 🥹) so now we have praise music playing 24/7. Hence why we’ve renamed her “Gracie” ❤️.

A former “merry go round” pony, he came with so much trauma that he literally shuddered when he saw or heard children! When ACTT Naturally reached out asking if he’d enjoy being a companion for off track thoroughbreds we jumped at the chance to give him the perfect situation! Walter lived out his last years so happily and I know he’s galloping alongside the big horses in heaven today 🌈❤️

Season come and seasons go. Those whose paths we cross are here for a season, a reason, or a lifetime.
We had Walter join our herd 4 years ago. A pony who was reportedly used as a merry go round pony all his life and then dumped.
We found Walter through Horses That Help in Ocala FL.
Walter came to us hating people. We let him live a somewhat feral life, only putting hands on him when necessary for the farrier or the vet.
While only with us for 4 years, Walter made his friends in the herd, had his favorite tree stump for his daily belly rubs and fell victim to human interaction through carrots and apples.

We will certainly miss you Walter. I’m so glad that we were able to make your final years everything that you wished for.
