❤️ Every device has a story.

When LeAnn's mother-in-law Evelyn passed away, her family wanted to honor her legacy of helping others. Evelyn spent years crocheting teddy bears for children and blankets for babies in need, always sharing her smile and kindness with those around her.

Rather than letting her cellphone sit in a drawer, the family chose to donate it to 911 Cell Phone Bank so it could continue helping someone else.

It's a beautiful reminder that even after we're gone, the good we do can continue.
Read this touching story about love, legacy, and how one donated phone may help create a new beginning for someone in need.

We want to recognize Rapid City City Hall for establishing a permanent device disposal donation location, making it easier for residents to securely donate used cellphones and other electronics for community benefit.

In the initial three-month drive, City Hall collected 419 phones, which helped lead to the permanent setup. Devices (working or broken) can be donated with accessories (chargers, cords), then securely wiped and responsibly refurbished or recycled before being redistributed through partner agencies supporting crime victims, including survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking.

Thank you also to the Pennington County Sheriff's Office Victim Specialist Program for partnering on this effort.
