Run for the Ribbons Non-profit 501(c)3 dedicated to the responsible aftercare of Thoroughbred racehorses

Run for the Ribbons is a charitable organization which provides off-track thoroughbreds (OTTB) with the foundation needed to ensure a smooth transition into their next career. Off-track and unraced Thoroughbreds are rehabbed, retrained, and rehomed by Run for the Ribbons, which specializes in the re-schooling of these horses from the track to multiple sport horse disciplines. We provide Thoroughbred centric horse shows and events, creating a demand for OTTB’s in Florida. We also educate the community on Thoroughbred aftercare and its importance within the horse racing industry. Upon being founded in 2014, Run for the Ribbons became a popular local horse show series for competitors on OTTB’s with proceeds benefitting the charity and the horses in the program. In 2017, Run for the Ribbons created and hosted the first annual Florida Thoroughbred Transformation Expo, a 3 day horse show offering prize money featuring competition in 7 disciplines for JC registered Thoroughbreds. Each discipline will have a restricted and open division, which allows
horses to compete multiple years and for unraced thoroughbreds to attend.

We are looking for judges for varying disciplines for the The 10th Annual Florida Thoroughbred Transformation Expo taking place at the Florida Horse Park Dec. 11-13.

We are looking for experienced judges in the following disciplines:
🐎 Dressage/Western Dressage
🐎 Working Ranch/Trail Horse

The only judge required to attend all three days will be the eventing judge. All other judges will attend either Friday or Saturday depending on their discipline, as well as all judges returning on Sunday for the finales. Judges are only expected to stay for the duration of their respective discipline for the day. All judges will be required to sign a contract and a W9 even if it doesn’t end up being needed.

If you are interested in filling a position please contact us at [email protected] or call Laurine at (774) 328-1760 to discuss further details.

Interesting headline , not sure about “room for thousands “ but definitely more funding for aftercare is absolutely necessary.

More than 61 percent of responding organizations have intake waitlists, but additional funding could increase their combined capacity from 2,648 to 6,719 Thoroughbreds.
