Aaleyah Bella’s abscess has worked its way out of the coronary band so she’s feeling much better. Thankfully! Tomorrow she will go back down to her paddock with Addi. 😊

UPDATE ~ HAY IS COVERED!

Hey Everyone!

JoJo here, to let you all know that with the arrival of fall, the grass has already started to turn brown. And you know what that means! It is time for Daddy Bob to make our first hay run of the season! Our order will include five one-half pasture bales comprised mostly of Orchard and Alfalfa hay at a cost of $670.

We moved Aaleyah and Addi from their south paddock today up into the arena to better monitor Aaleyah. I put a new poultice on her front foot and she did start bearing some weight on it. Abscesses can be very very painful.

Aaleyah Belle is having a tough time with an abscess in her front right and could use some good thoughts and prayers please. When they hurt, I hurt. 😞

The farrier tried to open it on Thursday with no luck. She’s on day 3 of poulticing. She is eating and drinking well. Temps have dropped quite a bit so that helps the comfort level a bit.

Cowboy really enjoys being a neighbor to Peaches. Peaches could care less but we won’t tell him that. 😂

Cowboys past wasn’t a good one but I think he’s happy here. He’s a bit particular about humans but that’s ok. He’s actually very sweet.

An update on our precious Peaches. ❤️

Before today, we thought we would soon need to let Peaches go to Rainbow Bridge. Our hearts have been heavy, but her comfort and quality of life must come first.

Our care team reviewed Peaches’ status again today, and Dr. Barrett recommends trying one more treatment protocol; a Spryng injection in her knee using OsteoCushion technology.

Our hope is that it will provide support within the joint and help make her comfortable. It may take a few weeks after the injection to see how effective it is. Throughout that time, we will watch her closely, with her comfort guiding every decision.

We are holding onto hope and praying this gives her relief and more happy, comfortable time with us. She is very deeply loved. But as much as we want more time with her, if this treatment cannot give her an acceptable quality of life, the vet will help her to Rainbow Bridge peacefully, surrounded by love.

Please keep Peaches and her care team in your prayers. We will keep believing and hoping, while putting her needs first. ❤️

20 for 20: Twenty Years of Believing

For 20 years, we’ve looked into the eyes of horses who had every reason to give up—and promised them we wouldn’t because we had a Village of supporters behind us.

Horses who arrived hungry, frightened, or in pain. Horses who needed time to learn that a gentle hand could be trusted. Horses whose healing took months, and others who will need our care for the rest of their lives.

Each has a name. Each has a story. And each deserves to be loved.

As Beauty’s Haven celebrates its 20th anniversary, we’re asking you to help us keep that promise through “20 for 20” - a gift of $20 a month for 20 months.

Your monthly gift helps provide grain and supplements, veterinary care and medications, and farrier and dental services. Behind each of these everyday needs is a horse whose comfort and well-being depend on them.

To give you one example of costs, the horses need two bags of grain a day. A bag costs, on average, $35.

Knowing your support will be there each month, helps us plan for their care. It means so much to have people beside us who believe these lives are worth the effort, the patience, and the love.

You don’t have to give a large amount to become an important part of a horse’s story.

Twenty dollars, given faithfully and joined with gifts from others, can help sustain the care that allows these horses to heal, feel safe, and enjoy their lives.

Some will begin new chapters with adoptive families. Others will grow old here, surrounded by familiar faces and loving care. Your kindness goes with them through every chapter.

Watching Jo eat is so very satisfying. 😊

She has dementia and some days we need to remind her where her food is a few times. But for the majority of days, she does well on her own. Every day is a gift and a blessing.
