JR Panthers Tackle Football Parent Meeting Recap

If you were unable to attend the parent information meeting, here are some of the important topics we discussed:

Registration

- Registration opens in January.
- Registration will close on June 1st NEXT TACKLE SEASON (not July 1st).

Cost

- Registration fee: $350
- Equipment deposit: $100 post-dated check dated 12/1/2026

Equipment Fitting Dates

- July 6th
- July 7th
- July 8th
- July 10th

Refunds

If your child decides not to play, please request your refund before the first official practice.

What Does My Registration Fee Cover?

Your registration fee helps cover:

- Insurance
- Field usage fees
- Concession operations
- Referees for home games
- GAC league fees
- Helmet reconditioning
- Athletic trainer costs
- Football equipment

Items Parents Must Provide

- Mouthguard
- Football cleats
- Girdle

Volunteers Needed

We are always looking for volunteers to help with:

- Concessions
- Clock and scoreboard operations
- Chain crew for home games

Football Equipment

Players will receive the necessary football equipment through the organization.

Weather

Please send plenty of water with your athlete. Practices can be very hot, and we do practice and play in the rain when conditions are safe.

Physicals

- Players cannot participate in games without a current physical on file.
- Physicals are valid for two years.

Season Information

- There will be no Commissioners Cup this season.
- First game: August 29th (location and times TBD)
- Championships: November 7th

Injuries

If a player is injured and misses participation, a doctor's note will be required. Players must also be medically cleared before returning to play.

Rosters

Players, coaches, photographer/ team mom, must be officially listed on the roster to participate on the field.

Playing Time & Safety

If you have concerns regarding your athlete's playing time, please communicate directly with your coach. Player development and safety remain our top priorities.

Spectator Conduct & Suspensions

The GAC has a strict policy regarding spectator behavior toward officials. Unsportsmanlike conduct toward referees may result in removal from games and league disciplinary action.

Coaching Requirements

All JR Panthers coaches:

- Must complete USA Football certification annually
- Must pass a background check
- Are required to renew certifications each year

4th of July Parade
The Junior Panthers are proud to announce that we will be walking in the O’Fallon Heritage and Freedom Fest 4th of July Parade. This is open to all Junior Panther flag and tackle football players and cheerleaders!

Where and When to Meet:
We will be lined up on Civic Park Drive, close to Alligator Creek. The exact spot will be communicated through the Band and Game Changer apps the morning of. We are Section 2: #21. Please arrive no later than 8:45am. There is parking in the grass lot on Woodlawn Ave. and on West Elm St.

Parent Supervision:
If your child is Kindergarten through 4th grade for the upcoming school year, they will be required to have a parent/adult chaperone to walk with them. 5th-8th graders may walk without a parent, but parents are welcome. Remember that this day is usually a long and hot day, so if you do not think your child can handle it, please do not drop them off without supervision. Coaches will not have a way to take them out of the parade. Please find a trusted adult to let them know you are dropping off your child. Cheerleaders who are being dropped off should check in with their coach.

What to Bring and Wear:
Please bring a bag of candy (or more) to throw out to the crowd. You may also bring a small cooler with drinks and these can be stored on the trailer.
Football players: wear any panthers shirt (or red, white, and blue if you don’t have one)
Cheerleaders: we are hoping to have uniforms by July 4th, but if we do not, coaches will communicate what to wear through the Band app.

Public Parade Info:
O’Fallon’s Heritage & Freedom Fest Parade officially kicks off the City’s Independence Day celebration on July 4th at 9:30 a.m. The parade route starts at the corner of Main Street and Civic Park Drive, continuing north on Main Street to Tom Ginnever Avenue, where it turns east, ending at T.R. Hughes Boulevard near the entrance to the festival grounds.

Road Closures on July 4th
7 a.m. – Civic Park Dr. from Woodlawn Ave. to Main St., includes access to City Hall from Main St.
8:30 a.m. – Main St. from Elm St. to Tom Ginnever Ave., all access to Main St.
9 a.m. – Tom Ginnever Ave. from Main St. to T.R. Hughes Blvd., all access to Tom Ginever Ave

End of Parade:
Please have someone pick you and or your child up at the Hoots stadium or gas station across the street. Plan on 11:00-11:30, but know that the parade doesn’t always start on time.
