is to assist needy members of the Chicagoland community with Passover and The High Holidays and other food-related needs so they may observe the holidays and daily life in a traditional and dignified manner. The mission is also to provide a volunteer opportunity to unite all members of the Jewish community. Maot Chitim began their mission to provide food to those in need for the Jewish Holidays in 1908. They are a nonprofit 501(c)(3). They rely on donations and grants to purchase all food and necessities to follow their mission.

Simchat Torah marks the completion of the annual Torah-reading cycle and the start of a brand new one. It’s a time for dancing, singing, and celebrating the timeless values of community, tradition, and caring for one another.

May the strength, wisdom, and joy of the Torah inspire us as we continue our mission to nourish and uplift Chicago-area families in need.

Wishing our wonderful community a warm, joyful, and peaceful Sukkot! 🌿🍋 As we gather under the Sukkah, we are reminded of the power of unity, hospitality, and ensuring everyone in our community has what they need to celebrate with dignity.

Thank you to all of our incredible volunteers, donors, and supporters who help us bring holiday meals and joy to thousands of Chicago-area families throughout the year.

What a day!

This Rosh Hashanah, our community came together to pack and deliver meals to families and individuals across the Chicago area.

From the volunteers who packed every box, to those who loaded cars, trucks, and vans and hit the road, every helping hand played a part in making sure these meals reached those who needed them.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated their time, energy, and heart. Because of you, we were able to share more than just a meal. We shared connection, kindness, and a little extra joy during the holiday.
We’re so grateful for this incredible community and everyone who helped make Rosh Hashanah special. 🍎🍯
