If you drove past the firehouse early Thursday evening you probably wondered “what the heck are they doing with a crane”. Well today we mounted our new fire siren. This siren will not only be used to alert our members of fire calls but also to alert the public of severe weather and other non fire emergencies. The siren will be in service soon once all the wiring is finished. Thank you to Horizontal Wireline for the use of your crane to set the siren in place and VFD for bringing your tower so our crew could bolt it down. Stay tuned for further updates and details on the progress of the new siren.

This morning the Rescue and Engine responded to a church in our first due for possible CO in the building. EMS was on scene for a patient that fell ill and while on scene had a 2nd patient fall ill. Due to this the EMS supervisor on scene made a good call to have the building checked for any possible issues. Our crews along with Larimer VFD monitored the building and found no dangerous levels.

Been a busy few days at “The Heights”. Aside from running numerous emergency storm related calls between Thursday night and today we’ve been working on improvements around the station.

Gerkin Roofing donated their time and completed the roof overhang above the truck bays.

And thanks to Mark Dawson for your donation of exercise/ physical fitness equipment for the station for our members to use. This new equipment is a great addition to our ongoing station updates!!

Stay tuned for more updates on what’s happening around the station. We are working hard to make HHVFD great again!!

***Attention all residents of Hartford Heights area***

North Huntingdon Township has placed a dumpster in our parking lot for residents that have flood debris that need disposed of. The dumpster is located in our front parking lot at the corner by the entrance to Magnus Ln (where the corn guy used to sell corn)

This is available to any township resident that’s in need of flood debris disposal only.

Thank you North Huntingdon Township for providing this to our residents.

There’s a place for everyone at “The Heights”. You don’t have to wear gear and get on the trucks to serve your community. A volunteer organization runs best with a variety of members that have experience in all kinds of different fields.

We have a variety of different membership from active firefighters to junior firefighters. Our juniors are ages 14-18. They are restricted by child labor laws on things they can do, but what they can do is always a big help at emergencies and other events.

Interested in being a part of a great organization and helping your neighbors? Feel free to stop by the station our meeting nights are the 2nd Thursday of the month. Or send us a message we would be happy to drop by your residence and drop off an application.
