As we wrap up our Conestoga adventure, we want to take a moment to recognize someone who made this trip even more meaningful.

A huge thank you to Father Matthew Morelli for his incredible leadership, encouragement, and willingness to jump in wherever he was needed. As an Eagle Scout, he brought a wealth of knowledge and experience that made a lasting impact on our Scouts. Whether he was sharing skills, offering guidance, or simply leading by example, he helped make this weekend one our Scouts will remember.

Of course, we also have to give him credit for serving as our official pie baker—keeping everyone well-fed with some amazing homemade pie! 🥧 And when it came time to tackle our adult shop project, Father Matthew was right there alongside the other leaders, lending a hand and helping everything come together.

We are so grateful for your time, your servant’s heart, and the many ways you supported our troop throughout this trip. Thank you for helping make Conestoga such a success!

Campfires and good food are a big part of what makes Family Troop 293 special. Throughout the week, Scouts and leaders gathered around the fire to share laughs, tell stories, and enjoy each other’s company long after the day’s activities were over. We put our Dutch oven skills to the test by making delicious Dutch oven pies and entering the camp Dutch oven cook-off with a hearty chili recipe. One evening, we enjoyed a fantastic dinner of pork chops, baked potatoes, and corn. Of course, no campfire experience would be complete without mountain pies, s’mores, and roasted hot dogs. The food was great, but the memories made around the fire were even better.

A special shoutout to Mike Lucotch for being our Executive Chef on the pies and chili.

We are excited to bring you a two-part unique opportunity to help your Webelos and AOL families plan their next steps in scouting. While also helping to check some requirements off your Den's advancement list.

First, join us Saturday, September 12-Sunday September 13 at Camp Conestoga. Your scouts will have the unique opportunity to camp with a local troop, learn about the next level in scouting and earn requirements towards their Outdoor Adventures.

Then, on Monday, September 21, join us for Meet the Troops Night at First United Methodist Church in Irwin. This evening is an opportunity for the cubs to interact with the scouts and learn new skills while their adults meet the leaders and get first hand information. When you walk out of this event, you will be ready to take that next step in scouting. The Meet and Greet Night also covers the AOL Bobcat requirement #7.

🌟 Safe Travels, Malone! 🌟

Family Troop 293 would like to give a special shout-out to our scout, Malone, as he begins his journey to Jamboree!

Malone is the only scout representing the Westmoreland-Fayette Council at this incredible event, and we couldn’t be prouder of him. His hard work, dedication, and scout spirit have earned him this amazing opportunity, and we know he will represent our troop and council well.

Please join us in wishing Malone safe travels, a memorable experience, and great success during his time at Jamboree. We also ask that you keep him in your thoughts and prayers throughout his journey.

Good luck, Malone! We are proud of you and can’t wait to hear about your adventures when you return. ⚜️💙
