Meet the team behind Fun Home! 🗝️

Matt Dudley (assistant director) is so excited to be part of the team for Fun Home at TTF! He has been involved in Pittsburgh-area theater both onstage and behind the scenes and is grateful for every opportunity to collaborate with local artists. Outside of the theater, he works as the practice manager for a local therapy office. He would like to thank the cast, crew, and creative team for their collaboration and for making this such an enjoyable process.

Meet the team behind Fun Home! 🗝️

Laura Wurzell (director/choreographer) has been performing, choreographing, and directing for many of the local professional, community, and educational theaters for over 30 years. Most recently, she has worked for Split Stage Productions (Chicago – director/choreographer) and The Theatre Factory (Beetlejuice, Jr. – director/choreographer) and will be working next with Main Street Theatre Company (Rent – director). Laura hopes that this show empowers everyone to find and share their truest self with their world!

Meet the team behind Fun Home! 🗝️

Ashley Temple (stage manager) has loved being involved in theatre behind the scenes for many years. Since 2016, she has served as the Stage Crew Coordinator for the Penn-Trafford High School Drama Guild, where she works with students to help bring productions to life and keep shows running smoothly backstage. She has also stage managed productions with Split Stage, Greensburg Civic Theatre, Apple Hill Playhouse, and The Theatre Factory. Ashley especially loves the teamwork, and fast-paced energy that comes with live theatre. She is ecstatic to be working with this amazing cast and production team and would like to thank her daughter, Lexi, and her husband, Michael, for supporting her in this end of school year endeavor.

Meet the team behind Fun Home! 🗝️

Christopher McAllister (music director) is excited to make Fun Home his Theatre Factory premiere! He is the current Scene Shop Manager/Scenic Artist at Seton Hill University and a Technical Director and Adjunct Instructor at the UPG. He is also a freelance artist in the area, spending previous years as a choral teacher, church organist, music director, production manager, and executive and artistic directors. During that time, he’s worked on countless productions, collaborating with local professionals, Broadway artists, and student performers alike, and even helped set a Guinness World Record for the fastest production of a musical in 2019. Christopher is an advocate for developing and premiering new theatrical works (and lesser performed works) and has contributed to several new-original musicals regionally, including Local Singles, The Crinolynns, and Romero & Juliet. This summer he begins work on a new audio/musical podcast endeavor with collaborator Greg Kerestan with The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari (). Special thanks to Mom, Dad, Ashley, and Jon for always being supportive with this crazy lifestyle that he has created and a HUGE thanks to everyone at The Theatre Factory for making this first show something amazing.

Meet the cast of Fun Home! 🗝️

Evan Hoffmann (Christian Bechdel) is very excited to be returning for his second show with The Theatre Factory. He was previously seen in the KIDWORKS production of The Reluctant Dragon as Ben. Evan most recently played Parker and Louis in Riverfront Theater Company’s production of Freaky Friday and Avery in The Heritage Players’ production of Charlotte’s Web. Evan is 11 years old and has been doing theater for about three years. He just finished his fifth grade year at McIntyre Elementary. He is very excited to go to the North Hills Middle School next year.

Meet the cast of Fun Home! 🗝️

Ky MacLaughlin (Roy/Mark/Pete/Bobby Jeremy) is very excited to make his Theatre Factory debut in Fun Home after a brief break from theater. Originally from the Philadelphia area, he could be seen in previous roles including Curtains: The Musical (Detective Cioffi), Chicago (Amos), High School Musical (Troy), All Shook Up (Jim), and Love’s Labour’s Lost (King). Outside of the stage Ky enjoys sewing, baking, discussing politics, spending time with his cat Puddin, and turning in bios fashionably late. He’d like to thank his family, his wonderful friends, and his boyfriend Dillion for their constant love and support throughout the years.

Meet the cast of Fun Home! 🗝️

Missy Newell (Helen Bechdel) is so excited to be back on the Theatre Factory stage, where she was last seen as Mrs. Wormwood in Matilda! She has performed at many of our area’s theaters, including Apple Hill Playhouse, GCT, Splitstage Productions, and NKCT. Some of Missy’s favorite roles have been Trish in Kinky Boots, Georgie in The Full Monty, Annie Sullivan in The Miracle Worker, and Jenny in Big Fish. During the school year, she teaches elementary music where she grew up! Missy wants to thank her amazing husband for his support and her talented kids for their love! She also wants to thank Laura for giving her this incredible opportunity to bring Helen to life along with this outstanding cast and crew!
