Congratulations to Norfolk Collegiate alumnus Kadin Ewing ’22 on graduating from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a concentration in Allied Health Sciences! 🎓

Kadin’s journey is just getting started — next up, he plans to pursue his Doctorate of Physical Therapy with a specialization in sports medicine. We are so proud of all he has accomplished already and cannot wait to see the impact he’ll make helping athletes and patients thrive.

And just like that, the 2025–26 school year comes to a close for many of our Oaks.

From classrooms and performances to athletic competitions, celebrations and unforgettable everyday moments, this year was filled with academic and social growth, connection and so much Oak pride. Thank you to our incredible students, faculty, staff, families and community for making this year so special.

We are grateful for every memory made and can’t wait to see what’s ahead for our Oaks. Until then — have a fun, restful and adventure-filled summer!

And don’t worry — our pre-K friends are still busy learning, playing and making memories with us through July 24!

Tiny voices, big smiles and so many special memories.

Yesterday, our pre-K 3 & 4 students celebrated an incredible year of learning, growing and discovering together during their Pre-K Celebration! From sweet songs and proud smiles to sharing books filled with their hard work, every moment was a reminder of just how much these little Oaks have blossomed this year.

Families also enjoyed a slideshow of this year’s adventures before exploring a beautiful art show featuring creations from throughout the school year.

Throwing it back to a beautiful spring day of cross-divisional learning at Norfolk Collegiate!

Our upper school Spanish 2 students teamed up with third grade Oaks for an afternoon filled with language, laughter and connection. The younger students practiced their Spanish skills by interviewing their upper school buddies before heading outside for a scavenger hunt featuring newly learned vocabulary words — including insects and leaves, which made for the perfect outdoor classroom on a gorgeous spring day.

Experiences like these are a meaningful reflection of our Portrait of an Oak, as students grow not only in knowledge, but also in confidence, collaboration, curiosity and leadership. Our upper school students stepped into mentor roles while our younger Oaks embraced the excitement of learning from older peers — proving that some of the best learning happens together.

From classroom connections to shared experiences across divisions, moments like these help strengthen the roots of our Oak community.

The tassels turned on Friday for the Class of 2026, but the memories — and the legacy — remain. 💙

From powerful words shared by the valedictorian, salutatorian and class president to the moments that defined their journey, this class didn’t just walk across the stage…they left their mark on Norfolk Collegiate forever.

The Class of 2026:
✨ Received 244 college acceptance letters
✨ Will attend 28 colleges and universities across 11 states, Washington, D.C. and Scotland
✨ Took 357 AP exams, with 78% of the class taking 5 or more
✨ Earned more than $4 million in scholarships and merit-based aid — and counting
✨ Celebrated collegiate athletic signings
✨ Earned an NROTC Scholarship

But beyond the numbers are the friendships, the late nights, the laughter, the growth and the memories that will last long after graduation day.

Middle and upper school students had the incredible opportunity to learn from Dr. Jessica Whitehead, a nationally recognized leader in climate adaptation and resilience.

From sea-level rise to extreme weather, her message was clear: today’s students will be tomorrow’s problem-solvers.

Through her work at Old Dominion University, Dr. Whitehead is helping communities adapt—and inspiring the next generation to do the same.
