Important Back to School Announcement📣📣📣

"Off and Away During the Day" is Gauger-Cobbs' cell phone, headphone, earbud, and wearable technology policy. In accordance with the district's personal electronics device (PED) policy, students are expected to store their PEDs upon entering the school building, and keep them off and away throughout the school day.

We appreciate your support as we work to help students focus on their academics and minimize the distractions that PEDs can have on the learning environment. 🐍

📵 No Cell, Bell to Bell!
A new school year means a fresh start and this year, we’re creating more space for what matters most: learning, connecting, and being present. Starting this fall, Glasgow High School, in partnership with the Christina School District, will introduce a new Personal Electronic Device Policy that limits the use of cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, and other personal electronic devices throughout the school day. Because when the bell rings, it’s time to be in the classroom, in the conversation, and in the moment. Less scrolling. Fewer distractions. More learning, growth, and connection.
So remember, “No Cell. Bell to Bell!” Let’s make this a great year, Dragons!

The Christina School Board voted Tuesday to phase School Resource Officers out of its middle schools and replace them with armed district constables.

During the conversation, Christina School Board member Doug Manley made pointed comments about police while pushing to remove School Resource Officers from district schools.

“These people can put a bullet in anybody at any time, and there is absolutely no accountability for them,” Manley said.

Manley wants SROs replaced with district-employed constables, who are also armed. He was the lone vote against a compromise to phase SROs out of middle schools because he wanted all SROs removed immediately.

💙 Thank You, Crane Charitable Funds! 💙

CHILD, Inc. is honored to receive a generous $4,500 donation from Crane Charitable Funds in support of our mission to strengthen children, families, and our community.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Valerie for nominating CHILD, Inc. for this meaningful gift. Valerie’s support, along with the generosity of her mom, who faithfully donates clothing for the children and teens we serve each holiday season, continues to make a lasting difference in the lives of local families.

As Crane Charitable Funds shared in their award letter, they proudly support organizations that provide needed assistance to underserved populations and believe that corporate success goes hand in hand with social responsibility. We are deeply grateful to be recognized by an organization so committed to strengthening communities.

Because of Crane Charitable Funds’ generosity, CHILD, Inc. can continue providing critical programs and services that help children heal, families grow stronger, and hope flourish throughout our community.

From all of us at CHILD, Inc., thank you to Crane Charitable Funds, Valerie, and everyone at Crane Company for believing in our mission and investing in a brighter future for the children and families we serve. ❤️

Spring Break 2026 Recap! 🎉

Last week was filled with fun, laughter, and purpose! Kids Place had an amazing time on field trips to Fun City and Christiana Skating Center. The kids had a rolling blast, literally. 🤣

We took the opportunity to give back to our community by visiting ExcelCare Nursing Home. Our kids played bingo with the residents, helped call out numbers, and even assisted with passing out prizes. A special thank you to Ms. Shelly, Recreation Director at ExcelCare, for allowing us to co-host this meaningful experience! It truly warmed our hearts to see the smiles on the residents’ and children’s faces. Small acts can make a big impact. 💛

We also hosted our annual Spring Fling, which was filled with fun field day activities and treats! We are so proud of our kids for not only having fun and being amazing Kids Place members, but also showing kindness all week long! 🥰
