Newark Morning Rotary is inviting our friends, neighbors and community partners to join us for something special on Thursday, October 22 at 7:00 AM at Deerfield Country Club.

We’ll be celebrating World Polio Day and The World’s Greatest Meal during our regular breakfast meeting, with a silent auction to help raise money for Rotary’s worldwide effort to END POLIO NOW. Let's finish this!!

We’d love for you to be part of it. Come have breakfast with us, meet some great people, bid on some fun auction items and help support an incredibly important cause.

We’re also looking for auction donations. Gift cards, restaurant certificates, baskets, services, experiences, vacation stays, tickets, handmade items, specialty foods — if you have something you’d like to donate, we’d be happy to include it.

And you don’t have to be a Rotarian to attend or participate.

Another busy and productive week for Newark Morning Rotarians. (Thank you, Robin Broomall, for the pictures and descriptions)

Free student dictionaries were delivered to third graders at West Park Elementary School by Newark Morning Rotarians last week. For more than 24 years, Rotarians have provided the free dictionaries specifically to third graders throughout the region. This grade level has been identified as the most important in a student's education for reading and literacy. For some students, this is the first book that is specifically for them, not the school nor a sibling.

Then,

Nine Rotarians volunteered at Newark Food Bank on Saturday, packing bags of weekend meals. In less than two hours they packed 450 bags, each containing milk, cereal, to-go tuna, mac and cheese, juice pouches and cookies that will be discretely distributed to local students at the end of the week as they leave school. At any one week the Food Bank can distribute as many as 8,000 weekend meals for children across the state who are already on free or reduced-cost breakfasts and lunches.

Note on our Fall Schedule: We meet the first four Thursdays of the month. Please note that we will not be meeting on the last Thursday in October (October 29th) or on Thanksgiving Thursday in November (November 26th), or the end of December.
