I'm proud to share that I'll be speaking at the Climate Solutions Prize Festival —
June 8–9, 2026 in Montréal.

Two days. The founders, investors, policymakers, and ecosystem leaders who are
actually driving the climate transition, in the same room, at the same time. The
programming is built around one question: what does it take to move climate
solutions from promising to deployed, at scale, right now?

I'm honoured to be part of that conversation. If you're working on the climate
transition: as a builder, an investor, a policymaker, or an advocate, this is where you
want to be.

As part of the "Enhancing Civil Society with University Engagement" program implemented by the High Atlas Foundation, in partnership with Mohammed I University and the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences in Oujda, and with the support of National Endowment for Democracy (NED) students received an in-depth training session led by Rabah Aynaou, professor and director of the legal clinic, focused on Ethics and Professional Conduct in Legal Clinic: Foundation and Practices. The session was through a two-day workshop held on May 14 and 15. The sessions focused on the conceptual framework of legal clinics, their objectives, and the ethical and professional principles guiding clinical legal work.

The training also highlighted essential values such as confidentiality, neutrality, integrity, personal data protection, emotional management, and professional responsibility when dealing with legal cases. In addition, students worked on several practical case studies that helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-life legal practice.

This initiative reflects the university’s important role in preparing students to practice legal work professionally and ethically, while also strengthening the university’s contribution to community service and access to justice.

Special thanks to Professor Rabah Aynaou for his valuable guidance and contribution to the success of this training session.

Their presentations explored key and interconnected themes, including water access and management, agriculture; particularly the role of women in farming systems, and climate variability and its impact on rural livelihoods.

Through direct engagement with local communities, the students were able to connect academic research with lived experiences, offering valuable insights into both challenges and resilience strategies within these areas.

Despite unexpected changes during their field experience, they demonstrated strong adaptability, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to learning from the Moroccan community.

We are grateful for this meaningful exchange of knowledge and perspectives, which reflects the importance of collaborative learning and community-based research.

Looking back at Earth Day 2026: To celebrate Earth Day, the Ghazel of Tazekka Association visited the Bouhlou nursery, part of the High Atlas Foundation. There, they learned about the Foundation’s efforts to achieve sustainable development in rural areas of Morocco.

These efforts include empowering local communities through agricultural projects (such as nurseries and afforestation), supporting women and youth through education and health initiatives, and building local capacities to promote self-sufficiency.

After a tour of the nursery and an introduction to the different types and varieties of seedlings, members of the Ghazel of Tazekka Association took part in planting fig saplings. This act reflected their love for the environment, their support for the High Atlas Foundation’s work, and their commitment to Earth Day.

Finally, participants expressed their gratitude for the Foundation’s efforts and their interest in contributing to the training and distribution of the planted saplings. They also encouraged associations and farmers to purchase seedlings from the Bouhlou and Aknoul nurseries and to take part in the High Atlas Foundation’s programs.
