Last year, we launched Sonidos Latinos, a new Save The Music grant designed to celebrate Latin music traditions and bring more diverse musical experiences into classrooms across the country.

By combining traditional band instruments with authentic Latin percussion, Sonidos Latinos gives students the opportunity to explore new sounds, connect with their cultures, and discover their own musical identities.

🎵 Hear from students at one of our 2025 Sonidos Latinos grant recipient schools in New York! Music teacher Ms. Rhoden and her 8th grade band students share a glimpse into their classroom, where many students bring experience playing multiple instruments and reflect on what makes their chosen instruments special to them.

Save The Music and Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) were thrilled to welcome 2026 Hometown-to-Hometown honorees: Amy Grant and Cesar Gueikian to Hunters Lane High School this week! 🎶

Amy and Cesar spent time with music production students, sharing advice, stories and lessons from their respective careers in music and the industry.

Both will be honored at Save The Music’s upcoming Hometown-to-Hometown event, where funds raised will help bring new music technology classrooms to students in Nashville, New York and California.

As a previous Hometown-to-Hometown grant recipient, Hunters Lane offered a firsthand look at the impact of this annual event. Amy and Cesar toured the school's music production studio, made possible through funds raised by past honorees and supporters.

We’re grateful to Amy and Cesar for investing their time in the next generation of music makers and showing students where a future in music can lead.

Join us on November 10th at City Winery Nashville for Save The Music’s 7th annual Hometown to Hometown, an unforgettable evening bringing the music community together in support of music education!

This year, we’re proud to honor GRAMMY Award Winner Amy Grant, Former Gibson President & CEO Cesar Gueikian, music legend Chris Isaak and Firebird Music Co-Founder & Executive Chairman Nat Zilkha. The event will be hosted by Leslie Fram and Caylee Hammack, with special performances from Amy Grant, Chris Isaak, Amanda Shires and more!

Since 2019, Hometown to Hometown has raised funds to support music education and help bring instruments, technology, and opportunities to students across the country.

All proceeds from this year’s event will support music education programs in public schools.

For some students, mariachi is their first experience learning an instrument. For others, it’s a new way to connect with their culture. ❤️🎺

At one of our 2023 Mariachi grant recipient schools in Jersey City, students shared what learning mariachi means to them. While a few already play multiple instruments, many are picking up an instrument for the very first time and discovering the joy, connection, and community that come with making music together.

Music education is evolving, but access remains essential.

A new feature from the Georgia Recorder explores the challenges music programs are navigating across Georgia, from rising costs and funding pressures to ensuring students have the instruments and resources they need.

We’re proud to see Save The Music’s work with Fulton County Schools highlighted as part of the story.

Through our J Dilla Music Technology grants, students are using keyboards, iPads, recording tools, and industry-standard technology to create music while developing skills that can connect to future careers.

As music education continues to change, one thing remains the same: students deserve opportunities to create, collaborate, and discover what’s possible through music.

Come behind the scenes with our Eastern Regional Program Director for a very special volunteer unboxing day with AEG and The Bowery Presents!

What started as an empty music classroom is now filled with over 200 instruments and pieces of equipment, ready for students to learn, play, and make music this school year.

With help from AEG volunteers, the school’s principal, assistant principal, and music teacher spent the day unboxing and setting up their new Save The Music Intro to Music grant.

This is what it looks like when a music classroom comes to life.

A huge thank you to AEG and The Bowery Presents for rolling up their sleeves and helping us get these instruments into the hands of students!
