Remembering Officer Michael "The Commander" Michalski. 💙
End of Watch: Wednesday, July 25th, 2018

Officer Michalski was shot and killed while attempting to apprehend a wanted subject in the area of 28th Street and Wright Street.
Before Mike was assigned to the Special Investigations Division, Mike and Rescue 7's very own Frank were partners on the Anti-Gang Unit at District Two. They were also on the same police bowling team.
With the Milwaukee Police Department having gone 22 years without an officer being shot and killed in the line of duty this tragedy marked the first time in Frank and Raena’s law enforcement careers that they lost a fellow officer, and for Frank, a friend, in the line of duty.
Today, Rescue 7 Firefighters for Patients remembers Officer Michael "The Commander" Michalski for his courage, faith, kindness, dedication, and unwavering commitment to serving the people of Milwaukee.

"Get up, get up, get outta here, GONE!"

Check out the new mural honoring the longtime voice of the Milwaukee Brewers, Bob Uecker ⚾️

When one of Rescue 7 Firefighters for Patients very own, Frank, was critically injured in the line of duty, he received a surprise visitor in the hospital: Bob "Mr. Baseball" Uecker.

There were no cameras. No publicity. No press releases.

Bob simply heard that a police officer had been severely injured, came to the hospital, offered his well wishes, left Frank a signed baseball, and quietly went on his way.

He didn't do it for recognition. He did it because that's who he was.

As we celebrate this incredible mural by Mauricio Ramirez, we're reminded not only of Bob's legendary career, but also of the kindness and character he showed when nobody was watching.

Today, on World Maternal Mental Health Day, we recognize the mothers who carry more than most people will ever see.

For mothers of children with rare diseases, the journey often includes endless appointments, sleepless nights, uncertainty, advocacy, caregiving, and grief alongside hope. Many spend years searching for answers while balancing the emotional weight of caring for a medically complex child.

At Rescue 7 Firefighters for Patients, we see your strength. We also want you to know that strength doesn't mean carrying everything alone.

Today, we honor the rare disease moms who fight every day for their children while navigating their own mental health challenges. Your well-being matters, too! 💙

Happy National Donut Day! 🍩

The Salvation Army celebrates National Donut Day by delivering free donuts and coffee to local police departments, fire stations, and emergency responders. This annual tradition honors the "Donut Lassies," female volunteers who fried and served donuts to American soldiers on the front lines of World War I.

Thank you to the Salvation Army for helping spread a little sweetness and appreciation today!
