EMERGE125 is a Black female-led dance company that expands the reach and impact of dance through creation, performance, and education.

Through a body of expressive, athletic modern dance work, EMERGE125 explores social dynamics and personal identity, illuminates and challenges systemic inequities, and inspires reflection and connection. 17. Based in Harlem, EMERGE125 also has a strong presence in the Adirondacks, tours nationwide, and shares virtual content globally. By performing in multidisciplinary or non-arts spaces, as well as engaging in cross-disciplinary collaborations, we reach beyond traditional dance audiences—we attract audiences who like to be surprised, challenged, and in dialogue with art of all kinds. Our youth dance education programs—serving K-12 students as well as pre- and early-career professionals—cultivate these same values in the artists and audiences of the future.

Artist’s Corner is a lecture series that provides attendees the rare chance to hear an informal conversation between two accomplished artistic professionals.

EMERGE125 proudly honors Juneteenth and the ongoing pursuit of freedom, justice, and equity.

This Friday, we invite our community to join us at the Juneteenth March 4M Run/Walk/Roll in Central Park, an event co-founded by EMERGE125 Artistic Director Tiffany Rea-Fisher and James Felton Keith. What began as a march through New York City in 2020 has grown into an annual gathering that brings people together to commemorate history, celebrate community, and reflect on the work that still lies ahead.

Whether you choose to run, walk, roll, volunteer, or simply show up in support, we hope you’ll be part of this meaningful day!

As we approach the close of our fiscal year, we’re reflecting on a transformative season.

This year, EMERGE125 celebrated 10 years of Artistic Leadership under Tiffany Rea-Fisher with a New York City Season featuring three new works, a sold-out Renaissance Gala, expanded education and community engagement initiatives, and growing audiences who continue to connect deeply with our work.

⚡️A highlight was our Spring Education Performance at the Apollo. Through 50.5 hours of rehearsal with 17 student performers, and the guidance of 4 E125 teaching artists, EMERGE125 created a free public event made possible through support from the New York Community Trust and DCLA.

Now, we’re looking ahead.
