The 2026 Global Team Science Award – the LRA's largest multi-year grant and a major investment in collaborative discovery – has been awarded to Ioannis Parodis, MD, PhD, Karolinska Institutet, and an international team of multidisciplinary experts.

The team will analyze complex biological patterns to anticipate treatment response and flares — advancing personalized treatments for lupus.

52-week Phase 2 data for litifilimab, an investigational drug in development by Biogen, further support its potential to achieve rapid and durable improvements in skin disease activity in adults with cutaneous lupus erythematosus.

LRA clinical affiliate Lupus Therapeutics collaborated with Biogen on the trial, helping ensure the perspectives of people living with lupus were incorporated.
