Every FIT alum earns their stripes. Some earn their spots too, and in the process, create a worldwide sensation. This Alumni Weekend, start your Saturday with Deborah Gregory, Fashion Buying and Merchandising '75, author and creator of The Cheetah Girls. 🐆

Hosted by FIT's Social Justice Center, Senior Executive Program Director Constance White will interview Deborah about her journey from FIT student to New York Times bestselling author. This cheetah-licious chat will explore how she built the world-renowned creative franchise and what to expect from The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen, slated for a 2027 release.

This trio of friends is ready to bring the party! If you haven’t heard, Binsky’s is a storied bar that once operated in the Dubinsky Student Center basement, and we bring it back one night a year during Alumni Weekend. This year we’re taking it off campus to the grit and glamour of Sid Gold’s Request Room, a live piano karaoke bar just steps from FIT. Admission includes one drink ticket. This fall, experience the extraordinary with an FIT Circle membership—talks by fashion industry leaders, insider access to curated events, private tours, and exhibition openings.
To kick off NYFW, members are invited to join us at the Waldorf Astoria New York for a private tour to discover the rich history behind one of the city’s most storied landmarks. During the tour, members will get the chance to view a special exhibition featuring four gowns crafted by FIT Fashion Design alumni. After the tour, join fellow members on the terrace to mingle over cocktails and light bites.

On Saturday, July 25th, over 160 FIT alumni gathered for coffee in 25 locations across the country and around the world from Milan to Mexico City. Thank you to our wonderful hosts for bringing local alumni together for a morning of fun conversation, shared learnings and ideas, and for some, a walk down memory lane about what it was like on FIT’s campus (we heard West Hollywood’s meetup included a yearbook show-and-tell from the 1970s!). 

FIT Coffee Connections is a new annual tradition, and the 2027 date will be announced next spring. Until then, hope to see you back on campus this fall for FIT Alumni and Family Weekend, October 23–25!

Friday, October 23 to Sunday October 25, FIT invites you to return to campus and reconnect with friends during our third annual Alumni and Family Weekend—with a few surprises in store this year.

Good things come in threes, so here's what you can look forward to:
1. Visiting the Alumni Bazaar to discover up-and-coming brands owned and operated by alumni makers and founders.
2. Getting dressed up and celebrating the anniversary of your graduation amongst fellow alumni at the Decades Dinner.
3. Getting advice from career superstars or sharing your own two cents with current students at the Industry Networking + Mentorship Luncheon.

Euro summer is almost over...but when you're an FIT Alumni, travel and discovery is year-round. After an overwhelming amount of interest, we are pleased to announce a second date added for an FIT Alumni trip to Japan, March 20-31, 2027!

⛩️ FIT alumni will cross the globe to visit Kyoto, Tamano, and Tokyo, experiencing the best of fashion from Ginza Fashion District to the birthplace of Japanese denim, with plenty of culture, history, and cuisine along the way.

👖 While in Tamano, travelers will have a chance to relax at a natural Japanese hot spring and take the ferry to Naoshima Art Island, followed by visiting a working indigo farm with a hands-on indigo dye workshop.

✈️ Registration for the second trip is now live. Sign up before spots fill up (our last trip sold out in less than an hour!) for the experience of a lifetime, shared with fellow alumni. Learn more at the link in our bio.
