For more than 45 years, SHOPP has been a trusted resource for older New Yorkers—providing nutritious congregate meals, supportive services, care coordination, benefits assistance, and programs that promote safety, wellness, connection, and independence.

We are grateful to the Mayor’s Office and NYC Aging for this recognition and, most importantly, grateful for the opportunity to continue serving and strengthening our communities every day. 🙏💜

Our caregivers took time to pause, create, and grow. 🌱🎨

During our Paint, Plant & Grow in-person support group, caregivers personalized flower pots, planted something meaningful, and reflected on the importance of self-care while caring for others. It was a beautiful reminder that nurturing ourselves is just as important as nurturing those we love.

🏀🧡💙 What a Day at NORC Lafayette Estates — The Knicks Way! 💙🧡🏀

Our Family & Friends Community Fair was a HUGE success! 🎉 Neighborhood SHOPP’s NORC Lafayette Estates brought residents, families, friends, community partners, and elected officials together for an incredible day filled with resources, fun, laughter, and community connection.

A special thank you to all of our community partners and representatives who joined us, including World Trade Center Health Program, New York Common Pantry, Ponce Bank, State Senator José M. Serrano, Council Member Amanda Farías, Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson, and many more who came out to support our community. 💜

We definitely brought the fun “The Knicks Way!” 🏀 We had Knicks trivia, Make the Shot hoop games, a 50/50 raffle, music, food, giveaways, and so much more!

And of course… what would Lafayette Estates be without LINE DANCING?! 💃🏽🕺🏽 Our members made sure the dance floor stayed moving!

Thank you to our amazing NORC Lafayette Estates team, partners, vendors, residents, families, and friends for making this community fair such a memorable success.

Neighborhood SHOPP is always proud to participate in the various initiatives for National Night Out, reaffirming our commitment to building safer, stronger, and more connected communities.

A special thank you to Carmen Rivera, President of the 48th Precinct Community Council, for the invitation and for hosting another wonderful community event.

We also appreciate the opportunity to connect with Congressman Ritchie Torres, Senator Gustavo Rivera, Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark, Council Member Oswald Feliz, and NYPD Deputy Inspector Andrew Lombardo. We are grateful for your continued partnership and shared commitment to strengthening our Bronx communities.

SHOPP’s Elder Justice Program was proud to participate in the 41st Precinct National Night Out, joining community members and partner organizations in promoting safety, awareness, and community engagement.

A special thank you to our Crime Victims Advocate, Katebriel Cruz, for representing the Elder Justice Program and connecting with residents to share information about our services and resources available to older adults experiencing abuse, neglect, or exploitation.

Thank you to the 41st Precinct for hosting this wonderful community event. We appreciate everyone who stopped by our table—we look forward to continuing to strengthen our community through collaboration, education, and support.
