UHF and Greater New York Hospital Association have welcomed Class 17 of the Clinical Quality Fellowship Program!

The 30 fellows kicked off their training as the next generation of quality improvement leaders with two retreats in Armonk, NY, this spring.

UHF’s second cohort of Health Equity Fellows officially kicked off their 18-month learning journey with a fireside chat featuring Dr. Oxiris Barbot and NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Commissioner Dr. Alister Martin.

During the conversation, Commissioner Martin reflected on the critical role of community partnerships, patient advocacy, and collaborative leadership in advancing health equity and driving meaningful systems change.

This --a day to celebrate meaningful care conversations--UHF highlights its work safely deprescribing medications for older adults to improve quality of life.

A UHF initiative for frail older adults near the end of life reduced the number of nursing home residents taking 10 or more medications by 34%.

One of UHF/Greater New York Hospital Association's Clinical Quality Fellows significantly reduced lab specimen errors at her OB/GYN facility, preventing potential delays in treatment and improving the patient experience and use of resources.

The project’s approach has expanded to two other OB/GYN departments in the health system.

Dr. Diaz is recognized for her outstanding leadership in advancing the health and dignity of those held in immigration detention through pro bono forensic medical evaluations, groundbreaking research, outspoken public advocacy, and a commitment to cultivating the next generation of socially responsible clinicians. It's fellows week at UHF! We're celebrating the seven fellows in Cohort 2 of our Health Equity Fellowship.

Tehreem Rehman, MD MPH MBA, is associate medical director of The Mount Sinai Hospital Emergency Department. She will be working with Public Health Solutions to establish a multidisciplinary post-acute care innovation program that will build AI-augmented screening and linkage to care pathways for health-related social needs.
