A UHF/Greater New York Hospital Association fellow has improved patient mobility in four units at her Mount Sinai Health System hospital, giving patients a better chance at a smooth recovery.

Whether recovering from surgery or a medical emergency, like a stroke, getting up and moving around is a critical part of a patient’s healing journey during a hospital stay. Studies show that early and progressive mobility can significantly improve outcomes: reducing complications like pressure ulcers or blood clots, helping patients maintain or regain strength, and often shortening their total time in the hospital.
