Federation of Indigenous Peoples of Nepal in America - FIPNA Federation of Indigenous People in America was established in 2005 in the city of New York by Janajatis of Nepal living in America.

The main goal of FIPNA is to preserve the indigenous culture, language, religion, dress and heritage here in America and in Nepal. In the context of changing political landscape in Nepal FIPNA is vigorously working to secure the rights of Indigenous People living in Nepal as stipulated in the UN Declaration on Rights of Indigenous Peoples - 2007 and ILO 169 which is ratified by the Government of N

epal. Nepal is a land of indigenous people and FIPNA believes that these people must have a fair access to all the opportunities and equal rights to all the resources available. FIPNA would always fight for the welfare of indigenous people of Nepal. FIPNA would welcome help from all corners in this endeavor. FIPNA would extend its support to all organizations or coalition of organiztions or individuals that believes and works for the benefit of indigenous peoples and preservation of their rights. Objectives of FIPNA:

1). Raise public awareness about the issues facing Indigenous Peoples of Nepal through advocacy, education, research, publication, and public forum debates.

2). Support the peaceful movement of the Indigenous Peoples in Nepal for inclusive democracy, secular state, and ethnic, linguistic and regional autonomy.

3). Ensure the effective implementation of the international laws and declarations related to the Indigenous Peoples such as ILO convention 169 and UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

4). Promote the causes of Indigenous Peoples of Nepal in the international forums and build support from the international organizations, institutions, leaders, rights activists, and the academics.

5). Facilitate cooperation and regular interactions amongst the Adivasi Janjati organizations and individuals in America. Support the member Adivasi Janjati organizations in preserving and promoting our indigenous cultural heritages.

6). Develop leadership skills among the Adivasi Janjati community leaders, volunteers and youths through workshops and mentoring programs. Promote the value of higher education, volunteering, and philanthropy among the Adivasi Janjati Peoples.

7). Empower Adivasi Janjati Peoples of Nepal in America through workshops on education, health, immigration, housing, employment skills etc.

8). Contribute to the development of Nepal with priority on the development of the endangered and highly marginalized Indigenous Peoples of Nepal.

9). Promote cooperation and harmony with other Nepali organizations and individuals for the benefit of Nepali Diaspora in America. Work for a better understanding and friendly relationship between the peoples of America and Nepal.

आदिवासी जनजाति उत्थान राष्ट्रिय प्रतिष्ठान (NFDIN) नेपालको आदिवासी जनजाति समुदायको अधिकार, भाषा, संस्कृति, शिक्षा र सामाजिक–आर्थिक विकासका लागि स्थापना गरिएको सरकारी स्वायत्त संस्था हो। यो २००२ मा स्थापना भएको हो !

यसका मुख्य उदेश्य र कामहरु :

* आदिवासी जनजातिका भाषा, लिपि, संस्कृति, कला र इतिहासको संरक्षण तथा प्रवर्द्धन गर्ने।
* आदिवासी जनजातिको शैक्षिक, सामाजिक र आर्थिक विकासका कार्यक्रम सञ्चालन गर्ने।
* जनजाति समुदायका विषयमा अध्ययन, अनुसन्धान र प्रकाशन गर्ने।
* परम्परागत ज्ञान, सीप र प्रविधिको संरक्षण र प्रवर्द्धन गर्ने।
* आदिवासी जनजातिको अधिकार र समावेशी सहभागिताका लागि वकालत गर्ने।
* छात्रवृत्ति, तालिम, क्षमता विकास तथा लोकसेवा तयारी कक्षाजस्ता कार्यक्रम सञ्चालन गर्ने।

एदि राज्यले आदिबाशि समुदाय माथि कुठाराघात गर्छभने यो किमार्थ स्विकार्य हुनेछैन !

Nepal Day parade 2026 “ celebrating Nepali heritage together “ was celebrated in a grand and historic manner in New York City. The event took place in Manhattan, where thousands of Nepali people gathered with great enthusiasm. Organized under the main patronage of the Consulate General, and jointly hosted by NRNA New York Chapter, FIPNA, and various Nepali organizations, the program was successfully conducted in a vibrant and festive atmosphere.

The program was chaired by the President of NRNA New York Chapter, Mr. Basu Lamichhane, while Mr. Ap Lama Sherpa served as the Convener. Their leadership, coordination, and active involvement played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and successful ex*****on of the event. The Chief Guest of the program was the Acting Ambassador of Nepal to the United States, Mr. Sharad Raj Aran. His presence added diplomatic significance to the event and inspired the Nepali community abroad to stay connected with their homeland.

Distinguished guests included Consul General Mr. Dadhiram Bhandari, NRNA NCC USA President Mr. Satendra Shah, and senior legal professionals Mr. Keshav Raj Sedhai and Mr. Khagendra G.C. Their presence further enhanced the prestige and importance of the occasion. Approximately five thousand participants, including Nepalis and members of other communities, attended the event. The strong turnout reflected the unity, diversity, and solidarity of the Nepali community living in and around New York.

During the program, participants showcased Nepal’s rich ethnic, linguistic, and cultural diversity through traditional attire, cultural tableaux (jhanki), music, and dance performances. Each presentation beautifully highlighted the unique identity and heritage of different communities of Nepal. Overall, Nepal Parade Day 2026 served as a powerful platform to promote Nepal’s culture, heritage, and identity on an international stage. It strengthened unity among the Nepali diaspora and provided an important opportunity to celebrate and share Nepal’s rich traditions with the global community.
