Garry and Debra Vaccaro founded the company, Warm Coats for Cool Kids, Inc., to give back to the community. While volunteering at the local food pantry, Garry saw how many families were in need of food and thought, “if families can’t afford food, they must need help buying winter coats for their children.” This last winter we started the non-profit company and as of August 20th we received 501(c)

(3) classification. The mission of the company is to obtain and distribute new winter coats to children in need. Earlier this year, we visited local retailers and were able to purchase enough new children’s coats to have three coat distributions this fall/winter. We plan to distribute 500 – 600 new coats to children in need this winter. We hope to expand our outreach with your generous donations.

The DuPage Foundation just informed us that they have approved a grant of $22,000 for Warm Coats for Cool Kids! This generous grant will allow us to continue to accomplish our mission of providing new winter coats, hats, and gloves to children in need. Thank you to the DuPage Foundation, the Donald and Dianne S***t Fund, and the Ruth and Hugh Christ Fund for supporting us.

In Harvey at 8:00 am on Wednesday Nov. 29th until we size the last student.
Warm Coats For Cool Kids needs volunteers to help kids at our last distribution. 200 coats need to be displayed on tables by size and gender. Then volunteers shop with each student.
Whittier is understaffed and may not be able to help with volunteers. Come see us in action and be part of the giving. Message us at [email protected] as soon as possible. Or use the message button.
