MEET THE DANCERS: Hofstra Dance Edition

Meet Nicole Sclafani! Nicole has been with Robin Becker Dance since her sophomore year at Hofstra, where she graduated with her BA in dance in 2000. She then earned an associate’s in occupational studies from The Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences and has since become a licensed massage therapist with her own practice. As the Associate Artistic Director of RBD, she has continued to develop, perform, and educate on the work of Robin Becker.

Nicole is the heartbeat of this work: drawing from deep personal knowledge and experience and guiding her fellow dancers to access their most authentic expressions. She has been a part of Into Sunlight since it began, and her commitment to this story has impacted everyone who has experienced this work. Nicole connects the audience, dancers, and the real stories of this work together by holding space for all of them in her being: an incredibly generous act.

Experience her artistry TONIGHT in John C. Adams Playhouse at Hofstra University, 7pm! RSVP through our bio, we hope to see you there!

MEET THE DANCERS: Hofstra Dance Edition

Meet Lisa Clementi! A Hofstra Dance grad of 2004, she’s brought her energy to Robin Becker Dance since 2006. Lisa also attended the Pratt Institute where she studied Dance Movement Therapy, and is currently a board certified Dance Movement Therapist with her own practice. As part of the original cast of Into Sunlight, she shared a unique perspective on how the work has developed over the years:
“The work has changed, in that as we get older and become more seasoned dancers and have more lived experiences as humans, the work deepens.“

Read more about her experiences with Into Sunlight and catch her back on the Playhouse stage on Thursday, Nov 13th at 7pm!! The link to RSVP is in our bio!
