We’re so excited to announce that VOICES has been nominated for a Webby Award

Voices! A Sacred Sisterscape is an interdisciplinary art project and audioplay amplifying Black women’s stories across the diaspora. This work invites us to step outside the narratives that have been constructed for us and to hold our sisters across distance and difference. Through a return to an ancestral practice of deep, radical listening, we use art to call forth a world where all women are loved holistically.

Voting is open now! Help us bring these stories further by voting at vote.webbyawards.com. It only takes a second.

We are so grateful to everyone who has listened, attended a listening exhibition, or joined one of our workshops. Thank you for holding this work with us.

On March 28th, One Billion Rising US joined San Francisco and millions rising at marches across the nation. The rally opened with a performance by Taina Asili, including the One Billion Rising anthem “We Are Rising,” followed by a call to RISE from Susan Celia Swan, Executive Director of V-Day and One Billion Rising, grounding the moment in a shared truth: state violence is gender-based violence. As One Billion Rising in the United States, we came together to confront the systems that enact this violence, from the terror of ICE to the ongoing silencing of survivors. And we move in solidarity with our global movement to ‘RISE for Our Bodies, Our Earth, Our Future.’

Gratitude to 50501 San Francisco, Indivisible SF and all of the Bay Area organizers for organizing and welcoming us!
