Uriel came to STRIVE Atlanta in 2024, ready for a new start after obtaining his GED. Through the Future Leaders program, he obtained multiple certifications and gained the financial, emotional and career-building skills that helped him land his first warehouse job.

Since then, Uriel has moved to North Dakota and graduated from Lynnes Welding Training. He is now working as a Tank Welder at O'Day Tank & Steel in Fargo, ND, where they produce oil and water tanks for the oil fields in the region.

Thank you to our volunteers at Deloitte who came to STRIVE Headquarters in East Harlem last week to lead mock interview sessions with students. This is what partnership looks like in action! Special thanks to Enrique Fernandez-Ramoz for his support in making this happen!

Volunteerism opportunities like these are a powerful way corporate partners can directly serve STRIVE's mission. When experienced professionals take the time to sit across the table from our students as invested mentors, sharing their experience, expertise and constructive feedback, they offer something no curriculum alone can provide: the demonstrated belief in what our students can achieve with the right support and network.

Last week, we celebrated our latest STRIVE New York graduates from our Career Path, Fresh Start and Future Leaders programs in Harlem and Brooklyn. Over 60 students obtained their credentials in Medical Administration, Healthcare Support, Logistics and Construction, and they are now ready to launch fulfilling careers and pursue an empowering and prosperous future for themselves and their families. Congratulations to all!

Special thanks to our guest speaker, STRIVE alum J. Franklin Ayala (Owner & CEO of Think It Renovations” LLC.), for his inspiring and encouraging words for our graduates. And thank you to NYU Global Spiritual Life for providing an open and welcoming event space for families and partners to celebrate with us. Thank you also to our board members Judy McElnea, Tanya Rakpraja and Dick Barthelmes, and our Friends of STRIVE Chuck Nice, Laura Slutsky, Ngan Shulman and Valisha Graves, for attending.
