Last year the Suntree Rotary Club raised $289.00 by collecting money during a club's meeting using funds from their 50/50 raffle and happy/sad bucks. A club member used Bill Gates Foundation motivation to double match the donation. She added $578,00 to the pot. Then a single member donated an additional $144.00 for a total raised in 15 minutes of $1,011.00!

District 6930 matched this and donated $1,011.00. The World Fund matched it and donated $1,011.00. The accumulated donated of $3,033.00 was double matched by the Bill Gates Foundation for a grand total of $9,099.00 - raised in fifteen minutes!!

At a cost of $3.00 to immunize a child the club raised enough to immunize 3,033 children. They plan on doing it again this year.

That's a lasting impact in Rotary's efforts to eradicate polio worldwide!

A commitment to The Rotary Foundation often begins with a personal connection to its impact.

For Peta-Gay A. Pryce, a Major Donor and Benefactor from the Rotary Club of New Kingston, Jamaica, Rotary District 7020, it begins with gratitude. She grew up in a Jamaica free of polio, later witnessed the effects of the disease firsthand, and has seen how Rotary global grants can transform the lives of children and communities.

Her own journey of giving began with becoming a Paul Harris Fellow in 2015. As she shares, one step of generosity can grow into a lifelong commitment to creating lasting change.

A student who can't see the board can't learn from it.

Together with Vision To Learn, The Rotary Club of Sandy Springs, Georgia brings free eye exams and prescription glasses straight to Sandy Springs students. Across the life of the program, the club has helped put more than 800 pairs of glasses on local kids — 222 of them last season alone.

The Club raises funds through community initiatives and special events (such as dedicated wine-tasting fundraisers) to help cover the cost of exams and glasses for children who otherwise might lack access to vision care.

Thank you to Vision To Learn and to every member and donor who made this year's project happen.

The Foundation IMPACT Award is underway, and now is the time for clubs across Zones 33 and 34 to get started.

First-quarter submissions are due September 30th. Clubs can earn credit by appointing a Foundation Chair, establishing Annual Fund and PolioPlus goals, and completing other first-quarter activities that build a strong Foundation culture.

The IMPACT Award provides a year-long roadmap to help clubs Inspire, Motivate, Participate, Advocate, Contribute, and Transform through The Rotary Foundation. Four quarterly submissions help clubs stay engaged, track their progress, and work toward recognition throughout the Rotary year.

Clubs of every size and giving level have an opportunity to participate and earn recognition.
