We continue the series with Julia Amran Julia Amran (She/Her), Director of Podcast Development at True Native Media .

Based in Los Angeles, Julia’s journey is a testament to the power of persistence, curiosity, and staying open to the unexpected. From cold emailing her way into an internship with Ministry of Sound and TMRW Agency in Sydney to working on major events including the Fortnite World Cup and Miss Universe, Julia has built a career by embracing every corner of the entertainment industry. She open up about the importance of putting yourself out there, learning how the different sides of the industry connect, and why being curious and open-minded can create opportunities you never saw coming—including a new chapter in the podcast industry in 2026.

This week we are proud to feature Alexis Burke alexis burke (she/her/hers)—the Digital Campaign Manager at Redeye . Based in New York City, Alexis brings a unique perspective to the music industry, having transitioned from a career as an elementary school teacher into music.

Alexis reflects on the importance of giving yourself time to develop your skills, find your niche, and build meaningful connections within your community. She shares gratitude for the mentors who helped guide her early career, and emphasizes the value of staying curious, thinking beyond traditional career paths, and nurturing the interests that brought you to the industry in the first place. Above all, Alexis reminds us that patience and grace are essential—and sometimes, when things get overwhelming, the best thing you can do is put on a really great album.
