Q***r Capita’s mission is to unite the Q***r
workforce in music, expand the collective impact of
our members through compelling partnerships, create
new pathways for Q***r students and aspiring
professionals, and advocate for the career growth
and advancement of our members. Founded in the Fall of 2021, Q***r Capita is a professional
networking and community non-profit organization for
LGBTQ+ professionals in the music industry. Q***r Capita
produces professional development workshops, member
events, and mentorship opportunities. Q***r Capita aims to
help shape the music industry into one where Q***r
professionals can not only work but thrive. Q***r Capita is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization registered

Q***r Capita presents: My First Job in Music 🎶

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 - Oct. 15), we are proud to continue the series with Chris Bell Christopher Bell (he/him), 🇲🇽 Artist Manager at Righteous Artists.

Based in Hollywood, CA, Chris’s journey in music is a story of following inspiration wherever it leads and recognizing that in a large but surprisingly small industry, relationships are everything. After earning a B.A. in psychology from UC Irvine without a clear path in mind, Chris spent a year living in London, where befriending the British band The Overtones, then signed to Rhino UK, gave him his first glimpse into the music business. Back in Southern California, a chance meeting with Kelsee Becker at a Red Light Management Grammy party led to an internship at RLM, launching a career that now spans artist management, A&R, marketing, and events.

Based in Los Angeles, CA, and raised in the world of Puerto Rican salsa, Hector’s journey in music is a story of trusting your instincts and recognizing that the biggest moments often come from following a feeling before you fully understand where it’s leading. Hector spent nearly nine years at Epic Records alongside music icon Sylvia Rhone, before stepping into his current roles spanning executive strategy, artist management and development, marketing, live events, and Latin, Pop and Urban music.
