At PubEd™, we believe leadership starts long before someone is given a title.

A leader can be the child who includes someone who is sitting alone. The student who asks a thoughtful question. The person who admits a mistake, speaks up when something isn’t right, listens carefully, keeps trying, or uses their strengths to help someone else.

So we’re starting with a simple question:

How do YOU show leadership?

And an even more important one:

What quality do you already have that makes you a leader?

Leadership can look like kindness. Courage. Curiosity. Responsibility. Empathy. Integrity. Perseverance. Service.

We’d love to hear yours. 💛

Leaders are kind. Everyone can practice leadership.

Getting an autism assessment often means long waitlists and tests that ask a young child to sit still, follow instructions, and perform on demand. For the children who need support the most, that can mean years lost before help arrives.

Researchers in Japan have been testing something gentler: eye tracking.

A child simply watches a short video while a device follows where their eyes go. No talking. No pressure. Nothing to pass or fail. The system measures small but telling things, like whether a child looks more at a person’s eyes or their mouth, and whether their attention is pulled toward people or toward moving geometric shapes.

Those gaze patterns often differ in autistic children, and this new study suggests they may help flag the children likely to need the most support earlier than current methods can. It takes only minutes, and it works even for children who are not yet speaking.

It is not a diagnosis. It’s a signal. An objective, low-stress way to help decide who should see a specialist first, instead of leaving families stuck waiting.

The sooner a child is understood, the sooner the right support can begin.
