Join us in welcoming the Lysander Piano Trio to Caspary Auditorium on Thursday, December 11 at 7:30 PM. Comprised of James Kim (cello), Liza Stepanova (piano), and Itamar Zorman (violin), the Trio has been celebrated for over a decade, performing across the US and internationally at venues like the Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theater. They have also received top honors at competitions, including the Grand Prize at the Coleman Chamber Ensemble Competition.

Born in Kyiv and educated at the Kyiv Lysenko State Music Lyceum and the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Vadym Kholodenko began touring internationally at age thirteen and went on to take First Prize at competitions in Sendai and at the Schubert Competition before his Van Cliburn Gold Medal. His recital this fall includes Beethoven Op.106, Lyatoshinsky Op.38 and Liszt S.140.

The program includes Shostakovich’s Piano Quintet in G Minor, Op. 57 and Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 9 in C Major, Op. 59, No. 3.

Beo String Quartet is celebrating its 10th year, and they have built a reputation for adventurous programming and powerful performances. Their New York debut at the Morgan Library drew praise for its “invigorating and deeply satisfying” sound.
