On this day we observe Indigenous Peoples’ Day. We reflect on the histories and innumerable contributions Indigenous people make to our communities, especially in New York City, and acknowledge that Lenox Hill Neighborhood House resides on Lenapehoking, the unceded territory of the Lenape People.
Indigenous peoples stewarded these lands for hundreds of generations before their displacement by European colonizers and remain deeply connected to their ancestral homelands today. We center their cultures and celebrate the beauty and resilience of their communities as we recommit ourselves to justice and equity in our work.
