On Monday, October 26, people of faith will gather in Alexandria, Louisiana, outside the family and child detention camp being readied at England Airpark.

We come to pray, to keep vigil, and to bear witness for the children and families who should never be held there.

Scripture tells us, "You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself." (Leviticus 19:34, ESV). Every one of our traditions calls us to protect the child and welcome the stranger. Detention is not care.

Come stand with us.

Park at the Community Center at England Airpark, 1718 Kegleman Blvd, Alexandria.

Join us Monday, October 26th in Alexandria for a prayer vigil at 4pm near the detention camp that will be opening soon at England Park.

This detention camp will be holding families and children as they are being deported. Faith leaders from all across Louisiana are gathering as we offer prayers, public witness and presence to show solidarity to families.

We don't want another detention camp. We don't need more detention centers.

Real reform of immigration policy is possible, but detention camps and mass deportations are not the way. Join us if you can, and if you can't, keep your immigrant neighbors and all who are advocating for human rights in your hearts and thoughts. 🫶

Join us for our next virtual workshop with Martha D. Alguera of SouthEast Dignity Not Detention Coalition

----She's pregnant, she's locked up, and the agency holding her has stopped telling the public how many of these pregnancies end in loss between January 2025 and February 2026.----

This workshop examines what detention physically does to a pregnant body - delayed and denied prenatal care, restraint use, inadequate nutrition, and the compounding toll of carceral stress on a pregnancy already at risk. It traces the policy failures that built this moment, from the erosion of ICE's own pregnancy directive to collapsed oversight and missing data, and spends real time on what doulas, clinicians, and community advocates can actually do about it.
