As a longtime board member and committee leader, Lin has played an important role in helping steward the organization and support its mission. His thoughtful leadership and commitment have helped position CCARC for continued success and impact.

Jean Plocharczyk is remembered for her eagerness to volunteer, her generous spirit, and her commitment to supporting a mission she deeply believed in. Through her involvement with CCARC, she touched the lives of many people and helped strengthen opportunities for others.

When many teenagers were focused on school and friends, Lillian Agostini was already helping support CCARC programs.

Lillian began volunteering as a young teenager and remained connected to the organization for decades. Over the years, she helped with transportation and supported people and families when opportunities and resources looked very different than they do today.

Her story reflects the dedication, compassion, and community spirit that helped build CCARC's foundation.

This past Thursday, we celebrated the ribbon cutting of our new garden space and the incredible partnerships that helped bring it to life.

Thanks to the generosity, dedication, and collaboration of our community partners, volunteers, donors, and supporters, the people we support now have a beautiful outdoor space to plant, grow, harvest, and enjoy throughout the seasons.

The garden offers opportunities to spend time outdoors, care for plants, learn where food comes from, observe wildlife and pollinators, and experience the simple joy of watching something grow. From the first seedlings of spring to the harvests of fall, it will be a place for learning, connection, and discovery.

We are deeply grateful to New Britain ROOTS, The Community Chest of New Britain and Berlin, Stanley Black & Decker, Tropea Realty, Hometown Foundation Inc., Angelo's Market, and everyone who contributed their time, talent, and support to make this project possible.

Thank you for helping cultivate a space where people can connect with nature, learn new skills, and grow alongside one another. 🌱💙

As National Direct Support Professional Week comes to a close, we asked our staff to finish one sentence:

"Being part of the CCARC team means..."

The answers were different, but the message was clear.

It means making a difference.
It means working together.
It means supporting dreams, encouraging independence, and helping people live meaningful lives.
It means showing up each day with compassion, dedication, and heart.

Our Direct Support Professionals do more than provide support. They build relationships, create opportunities, advocate, encourage, celebrate successes, and help make our community stronger and more inclusive.

To every DSP who shows up, steps up, and makes a lasting impact on the lives of the people we support: thank you.

Your work matters. Your dedication matters. And the difference you make is felt every day.
