Members of the PCC team had a wonderful evening helping the United Way of Southington celebrate their centennial anniversary! We were honored to be included in their centennial video, and we are deeply grateful for their ongoing partnership and commitment to our work. Congratulations to the caring Southington community on 100 years of making a tremendous positive impact!

For a young person experiencing an unhealthy or abusive relationship, having someone they feel safe talking to can create an important connection to support, information, and options.

Trusted adults can listen without judgment, take concerns seriously, help a young person think through next steps, and connect them with resources when needed.

This , we’re reminding our community that supporting young people starts with being someone they can trust 💜

What an incredible way to start the week! We were honored to host representatives from the Hartford HealthCare Central Region for a Hope Tour and partnership meeting. We are deeply grateful to have this caring group as allies in our local healthcare community, and we look forward to partnering further to provide the best possible support and health outcomes to survivors in our area.

Safety can look different for every survivor. There is no one-size-fits-all safety plan. Every survivor’s situation is different, and the choices about what feels safest are theirs to make.

A safety plan might include identifying trusted people, planning where to go, keeping important documents or medications accessible, or thinking through ways to stay safer at home, work, school, or online.

As a community and society, we need to move forward, NOT step back. With the devastating reality that DV homicides continue at alarming rates in our state, abusers MUST be held accountable. Our court advocates are front-line warriors doing that life-saving work every day, supporting survivors through our intimidating criminal justice system at some of the most difficult and dangerous times in their lives. We need justice for survivors! Make your voices heard - contact your legislators to ensure continued support for our court advocates and their vital work. We have four passionate, highly-skilled and experienced court advocates doing this critical work, with an incredibly large caseload of nearly 3,000 cases annually. We can’t imagine the injustice and suffering that would be perpetuated by abusers if those caring, compassionate advocates were no longer there.

Connecticut could lose as many as 100 domestic violence advocates in the state’s courthouses if officials cannot find a way to replace funding that has been cut at the federal level.
