College Affordable

What a week for College Affordable!
Our team has been busy working directly with students in Fitchburg, helping them create their FSA IDs and complete their FAFSA forms.
We also had a fantastic day at St. Bernard's High School, where we hosted six workshops!
We love getting into schools and working alongside students as they navigate the financial aid process. These workshops are an important part of making sure students have access to the guidance and support they need.
Thank you to our school partners for welcoming us and helping make this work possible!

The FAFSA form is officially open!

The form may be a little shorter this year, but completing the FAFSA is still an important part of the financial aid process, and having fewer questions does not necessarily mean having fewer questions about what to do.

This is one of the areas where College Affordable can help. Our team stays up to date on changes to the financial aid process and continuously adapts our guidance as things evolve.

Whether you are completing the FAFSA for the first time or doing it again this year, you do not have to figure it out alone.

Have questions? We’re here to help.

New Partner School!
Welcome, Bridgewater Raynham Regional High School. We are excited to begin working with their students and families and look forward to what’s ahead this year.

We are pleased to announce a new partnership with College Affordable. They are a non-profit that provides free, comprehensive help to students and families to navigate the complicated process of accessing financial aid for higher education. This school year, they helped over 7,000 students across the state of Massachusetts and are now expanding their school partners in the Southeastern MA area. To begin working with them, visit our landing page and complete the family registration form: https://collegeaffordable.org/bridgewater-raynhamregionalhs/.

The program includes workshops, access to webinars, self-help tools, and 1x1 expert help from their team of Financial Aid Counselors. You can schedule 1x1 virtual meetings with them through this landing page, email them at [email protected], and call/text them as well at 781-343-1941.

They will be at our school in the Fall hosting a Financial Aid night as well. We will share the date once we have finalized our 2026-2027 school calendar.

We are so honored to have College Affordable featured on the Boston 25 News today!

The segment explores who we are, what we do, and how deep expertise in financial aid can fundamentally shift a family's college trajectory. Yarleny’s story is one example of what this work can make possible, and a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.

But this story belongs to more than just Yarleny and College Affordable. It represents the work of our entire community. Our volunteers, donors, school and community partners, counselors, and team members all play a part in helping students like Yarleny navigate the path to college and make it more affordable.

We are incredibly proud of what this community has accomplished and amazed by the results we continue to see!

We hope to keep sharing many more breakthrough stories as they come.

Watch and share Yarleny’s story through the link in our bio.

So proud of Princess and so happy we were able to be apart of her journey, especially with the help of the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts.

Watching her show up as a leader in every sense of the word has been so amazing.

She is now heading to UMass Amherst to study Biology.
Stories like hers remind us that when students get the right support at the right time, there is no limit to what they can accomplish.

Congratulations, Princess. We are so proud of you!!

As a proud sponsor of the Leominster High School Women of Color Speakers Series, we are thrilled to celebrate an incredible milestone for an extraordinary leader, Princess Sasu.

For the past three years, Princess has led this powerful program with passion, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to uplifting voices and inspiring her peers. Through her leadership, she has brought in passionate, motivating speakers from a wide range of successful career paths, giving students meaningful exposure to diverse experiences and possibilities for their own futures.

As she prepares to graduate from Leominster High School, we congratulate her on all she has accomplished and wish her nothing but continued success as she begins her next chapter at UMass Amherst, where she will be studying Biology.

Princess, your future is bright, and we can’t wait to see all that you achieve.

Think it is too early to start planning for college?
It is not.

As the school year comes to a close, many students begin thinking about what comes next. Starting early allows families to approach the process with clarity, not urgency.

Understanding cost, exploring options, and building a thoughtful plan early on can shape better outcomes later.

Our upcoming webinar, Setting the Stage: Freshman and Sophomore Game Plan, focuses on how to begin this process with intention.

Join us on May 12.

Meet the Team Tuesday is continuing its fun shift. We are turning to the intern crew who supported College Affordable this past summer and throughout the year.

Meet Charlie! He is a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison double majoring in Economics and Data Science. As part of his work with College Affordable, Charlie has been supporting the organization's data management and fundraising infrastructure. He worked with user and profile data to create a unified database tracking key engagement metrics and wrote scripts to identify College Affordable's most engaged users for outreach. Charlie has also conducted in-depth research on donation platforms and donor-advised fund programs to help College Affordable expand its fundraising reach and connect with new donors.

Thank you, Charlie, for your thoughtful work and contributions to College Affordable!
